[Chell is staring at an invitation lying on the floor at the toe of her boot. She'd crawled out of bed, and there it had been. She'd picked it up, squinted at the elegant script and shimmery ink for a loooong moment, and then set it back down on the floor. Now she's opening her journal and writing something.]

When I woke up this morning and got out of bed, I found a strange card proclaiming there is to be a masquerade ball very soon. Did anyone else get these invitations? Can someone tell me what a masquerade ball is?

[And then she writes in a filter. If writing someone's individual name will get their attention, then maybe writing in a group of people's names will get their attention too.]



If any of you have gotten these cards speaking of the ball, are you going? It seems a trap to me. Lure people into a party, make them drop their guard, and then inflict some terrible thing on them.

Why should I believe otherwise? There was never any cake when it was promised so this is likely the same. But if you go, then perhaps I will go to watch. And to get help if things go badly. I simply wish to know your thoughts on the matter.


[That done, she picks up the invitation, stares at the pretty shimmery ink for a moment, and then rips it into four equal pieces. The whole thing is making her nervous.]

[Chell isn't exactly sure whether she'll go or not. The whole thing seems rather creepy but hey. She might just go to keep Nick safe... Maybe.]
