["Everybody Knows" only plays just past the introduction, this week, before Mark takes the needle off the vinyl with a flourish] Hey, hey! Happy Monday, happy fall, merry unbirthday, whatever! Didja miss me? ... Since yours truly was a little busy with a birthday party last week and missed a broadcast, we've got two weeks' worth of newbies for you: Damon, Rapunzel, Cagalli, Trucy, and Stuart.
As for happenings, weelllllll, first we got gnomes, and there are apparently pirates, and then of course, well, fairies. The fact that they brought a giant party doesn't really change the fact that we're getting an awful lot of storybook stuff lately, from where yours truly is sitting. So, I guess I could go on about how many of you are sitting on your asses waiting for your prince or princess to come, or if you think this castle's bad enough without adding dragons into the mix, or moats full of alligators ...
But really, guys? Really, tonight, I'm feelin' a little more like the music man than the mouthpiece. Tell you what: let's play a game. You guys give me your favorite song, and I'll see if I can't spin you a few more I think you might like, based on what you tell me.

...Okay, look, have a handy filter. Just ... play me the song and I can probably figure it out? Or at least be able to pick somethin' you'd like based on it.
[Mark]
[Ino]
Give me a few minutes.
[while her song plays out, he'll start queueing up CDs and tapes ... and then]
Okay, here goes!
[ENJOY YOUR 90S CLUB MIX, INO]
[Mark]
[she'll sit quietly and listen, once he plays it ... and for the first two songs, she seems fine with it, but when the third comes on, she sounds confused]
Hey, wait, what is this??
Ino, to end

It's not like the first one at all. The first two and that one were about totally different things.

[he thinks about this for a moment, trying to figure out how to explain it to her. and then he thinks he might have it] Like different disciplines of fighting, right? Don't ninjas fight differently depending on what weapon they use, or who teaches them?
[he grew up on turtles and Missa-Miyagi, don't make fun of him]

Bruce Springsteen - Radio Nowhere... I don't understand what it's about, but it is good. I hope the birthday party was fun!
[And then she settles back with a grin. Monday nights are one of her favourite times in this place.]
sorry this took so long, I wanted to do her justice...
So you've discovered the Boss, huh? That's a good one. I think it's mostly about ... well, what it gets like around here sometimes. Knowin' there's a billion people around you, but not feelin' like you're connected to any of 'em... and how music can help fix that. [of course you'd find one of his favorites.]
As for youuuu, little lady ... try these on for size.
Perfectly fine by me. You're better than Pandora.com
When the last one's played, she writes him a message back.]
Mark, you are amazing at this. But I have some things I would like to share with you. I found them this week, and they are very good songs too and maybe you've not heard them yet.
[With that, the journal would pick up the sound of Chell leaping to her feet, picking it up, and marching somewhere, with much purpose. There's the sounds of her scrambling down the tower stairs. Eventually, though, she winds up in her little niche in the corner of the music room.
There's the clattering sound of about twenty CD cases falling everywhere as Chell rummages through them for something. Then she sets her journal on the floor near the speakers but not near enough to deafen Mark, pops a CD into the player and pushes play.
The first track to play is this defiant little number"> followed closely by this which she just likes the beat of.
Then she reorganizes the stack of CDs, and heads back to her room. Once there, she writes a last message.]
What do you think?
[Man, she needs a CD player in her room, but the thought hasn't occurred.]
[OOC: Apologies for live videos. There were no in-studio vids on Youtube that I found. Also, I need to learn an accessible way to do Youtube playlists.]

Struck. Any reason why?

He doesn't need the extra attention.

Fair enough, I guess.... If it's that big a deal...

Oh Hey, It's This Windbag
[that, of course, does not mean he can't be a troll about it]
... Here we go. [and on goes the music.]

I like. I wish I could bring it with me to the shooting range. [Where she did most of her training these days, far from the eyes of Gale and Peeta, because she didn't want them to worry about WHY she was still training.]
