[September hasn't been kind to Henry. First Snow, sent back home just to be cursed, and now he wakes up to find their (his, now) room is completely, terribly empty.

Alone. Again.

It's a long while later, but when he speaks into the journal, his voice is composed (if very, very small).]

The castle sent my mom home. Emma Swan. [a pause] I just, I dunno. I thought you guys should know.

[He knows he should be happy, that this means Emma can go back and break the curse like everyone at home needs her to. But he started out in Paradisa with his family whole and intact, and now....

And now he's just right back where he started.

He drags his sleeve at the corners of his eyes, and writes in a filter.]

[ Prince Charming ]

Do you wanna.... [He hesitates.] Can we get dinner?

Okay!

[There's the sound of him trotting away from the journal--

-- and then five seconds later he's back again.]

Do you want me to come up to your room again?

Well, I#m sure not going to go anywhere else. [ALWAYS HENRY]

Okay.

[And he's gone again!

And he's back again!]

Do you have a DVD player?

Do I have a what?

[That would be a big fat no, Henry. What's a DVD player?]

[A pause.]

Do you have a TV?

...No. [He has NOTHING]

[bro. BRO.]

Then how are we supposed to watch a movie?

...Oh. Good point. [This is what you get for your hermitry, Once]

Are you sure you won't go anywhere else? Not even if it's just down to my room?

[There's a very long pause here and the Once-ler weighs up how much he doesn't want to leave his room in relation to how much he wants to make sure Henry remains calm and content in this difficult time]

...I guess I could come spend a few hours out of my room.

[He seems to realize that wasn't a kosher thing to ask, and backpedals accordingly.]

You don't have to if you really don't want to. I mean, I don't want to make you.

[But he does sound like he'd be disappointed if the Once-ler changed his mind.]

[He hates this castle. He hates it's made him make friends and began to care for things...live for things again. It's not cool.

He sighs, keeping an upbeat tone for Henry's benefit]

No, it's okay. I'll come watch the movie with you.

Great! Um, thanks.

I can pick a short one so you don't have to stay long.

Okay, which room is yours again?

[There's some shuffling in the background, and an excited upswing in his tone. LOOK HOW HAPPY YOU'VE MADE HIM.]

[He's glad, he really is. That's what he's been trying to accomplish here after all.

Eventually, he does make it to Henry's room. Knock knock]

[In addition to picking out a movie, he's been very careful to wash his face and straighten his hair and generally make himself look less like he he cried in his bed like a little boy.

He puts on his very best attempt at a smile when he opesn the door.]

Hey! Here, come on. [He grabs Once by the sleeve, urging him toward the couch.] I have it all set up already. It'll be quick, I promise.

[Henry that is so precious. It's almost depressing that the Once-ler's ability to understand people in general (or lackthereof) means he likely wouldn't have noticed anyway.

Still, he'll go in and take a seat on the couch]

Hey, giving you points for efficiency.

[Henry hops over the coffee table to the TV. He points to where he has the disc already set in the slot.]

This is a DVD player. It lets you watch movies. It's great, and you should get one.

[He nudges the tray so that it slides in, hits play, and scrambles back to perch on the couch next to the Once-ler.]

...You can fit a movie on that tiny little flat disc thing?

[Yes that's the part he's going to focus on]

Yep. My world might not have magic, but it does have a bunch of other cool stuff.

Magic is highly overrated as far as I'm concerned anyway.

But magic can do everything.

[beat]

Well, almost everything. I don't know if there's a spell for watching movies. My book didn't mention it.
