Someone from my past, my oldest and dearest enemy, just arrived here at the castle. His name is the Master. He's incredibly clever and exceedingly dangerous. The last time I saw him in his current regeneration was in my Seventh. My Fifth self knew him as he is, now. [He pauses, thinking] It's been quite a while since I've seen him and I have no idea what he might do while he's here. I won't tell you to stay away from him, just be careful.

The Master's here. He's not as he was the last time I saw him, however. He seems to be from the time of my Seventh regeneration. I just thought you ought to know.

Someone from my past is here. Another Time Lord. Someone who could turn out to be very dangerous. His name is the Master. He hasn't done anything, yet, but that's not his way. He'll take a look around, first, get the feel for things and concoct a preposterously overcomplicated plan before he does anything. If he does try anything I suggest coming to one of myselves first. We've dealt with him for centuries, after all, and thwarted him at every turn. I want to avoid anyone else getting hurt if I can.

[Now that that's done, Eleven rests his journal open on his console and flops back into the pilot's seat with a soft sigh]

Hullo everyone. It's been a while since I've heard from some of you so I thought I'd just put out a general inquiry - how are all of you doing? Staying out of trouble? Getting into trouble? Getting out of the trouble you've gotten yourself into? Some combination of all three? [He laughs]

[Five fixes his own cup, watching the milk as it billows in the tea and slowly diffuses. after a moment, he sighs]

[Eleven doesn't speak for a moment. There's some typing and the quiet whirr of a printer. A photo is pressed against the page]

Oh I wouldn't call them my flocks. More checking in with my friends.

[There's a smile in his voice] Can't say I've heard your voice before. Are you new here?

Why do I get the feeling I should be armed at all times these days?

[He chuckles] Somehow I'm surprised you already aren't.

So I take it there's usually a lot of trouble around here, then?

Oh no more than I've had at home. Aside from the trouble the castle throws our way on a semi-regular basis it's more the usual mischief people get into around here. Loss related or otherwise.

I'm fine. Taking it easy and focusing on getting better.

It looks like we have a window for observation and preparation before anything happens, though.

He's changed quite a bit by my time. As he is now he's closer to as he was during my Fifth regeneration.

I think it tends to be a combination of all three, Doctor. A pleasure to hear from you again. I am sure Svitana would say the same if he could speak.

It's a pleasure to hear from you as well, Ashura. [He chuckles] I'll have to bring him a snack the next time I'm in the stables. I seem to be spending more time there these days.

I'm alright, I suppose. ... an old friend from home turned up.

Percy, is that you? [He pauses] Well I'm glad to hear it's all three.

[normally being told not to do something, or being told she isn't going to be told to stay away but, makes Amy automatically want to do it. However, something about the Doctor's voice makes her hesitate]

[He breathes a sigh of relief. He had expected her to argue with him. He was happy to hear her concern]

I haven't entirely decided, yet. He's from the time of my Seventh regeneration. Needless to say we... didn't part on the best of terms. Never have, really. At least not in a very very long time.

I know. I recognize his voice. He [pause] was here before, a long time ago.
