Dictated (or in person)
[ John is lying peacefully in his clinic bed, his journal placed on a table next to him. A lot has changed in the past week that John has been asleep, mostly because as far as he's aware a full year has gone by back at home, or... well on the flying battleship that he's been traveling on with his sister and a the ghosty bird version of his best dude friend. Needless to say trying to pack a year of years worth of growth into one week is pretty odd, and it's a good thing John was wearing his weird magical pjs when he knocked himself out or else his clothing might not fit as well when he woke back up.
Speaking of waking up... John's body suddenly jolts as he wakes up, he flails his arm out and knocks his journal off of the table and onto the floor. Nice how these things fall open when you most need them!
... No just kidding, it actually fell on the floor closed, so anyone who isn't in the clinic at the moment would have missed that, but it's okay, John's leaning over the edge of the bed to pick up the journal and prop the thing open on his lap.
He just stares at it for a moment trying to get a good idea how long he was gone. It's a little disorienting waking up after being gone for so long. ]
Woah... Hey uhm, okay so I kind of just woke up in the clinic and have no idea what is going on, but I think I probably hit my head like I did last time this happened. So uh... how long was I even gone? What is today's date and all of that?

...Hey, wait a second. Hadn't Rose said he hit his head recently?
...Holy Cow!]
John! You're okay!!

Jane, hi. Yeah, I think so? I mean, I feel okay.
no subject
What happened?
no subject
[ Wait no, Jane wouldn't know about that. Rose wouldn't either. No one would. What time did she...
Oh! Right, there was a bird when he was flying and--
... Huh, well that explains it. ]
I think I ran into something when I was flying?

...And who is Jade?
no subject
Also Jade is my sister! She used to be here at Paradisa. In fact she has been here a few times now, but she left before you showed up.

... Right. Okay, never mind that outburst. ]
Wait, that was only a week.
no subject
A week is still a long time... Are you okay?
no subject
I think so! I mean, someone said I hit my head but it feels mostly fine, which is funny because back on the ship I also just hit my head hard enough to knock myself out too.

And yeah! The flying battleship me and Jade were on when we traveled from one universe to another. Also no one really hit me, but when I was trying to calm Jade down and get her to stop chasing Rose's princess ghost cat who can also talk they both went through a wall and I smacked into it.
[ ... This all makes perfect sense to John. Even if it sounds like he's probably still a little scrambled after bumping his head here. ]

[Rose's voice is soft over the journal. She's been ticking down the days, with the full knowledge of what sort of nap this has been. He'll be waking up with memories, some of which she was a part of, and she isn't quite sure how she feels about that. Steeling herself, she takes her journal and starts towards the clinic.]
You've been unconscious for a week.
ahahahah
Yeah, someone told me it's the twenty-seventh right now.

[Awkward would be a good adjective for this situation. Rose doesn't know what he's been through, or how it could have affected him. It's possible that he's rounded home plate and become an asshole teen! Though the chance of that is very slim.
Reunion in clinic imminent in t-minus three minutes.]
How are you doing?
no subject
Except for the part that he is actually fifteen... just not physically. ]
Okay mostly. I hit my head before coming back here, so it kind of hurts. Not that much though.
no subject
[A bumped head is always better than a dead one.]
I'll be in the clinic momentarily.
no subject
What... like right now?!
[ He hasn't seen her in so long! (Sort of.) He wants this moment to actually matter! ]
