For those who know him, the castle has apparently decided to place Vanyel Ashkevron in an enchanted sleep in the gardens. His Companion assures me he is still alive, though neither of us could wake him.

[A pause, and then-]

I would also recommend not trying to shatter the case he's enclosed in. It seems fairly impervious, and reflects any attempts to break it magically back on the caster.

[Who has a boatload of bruises to prove it? This mage]

This feels like a somewhat inauspicious time to do such a thing, but I'm afraid if I leave it off, more things will just come up to replace the current problems - I intend to do some divining to try to grasp a little more of the nature of this place and of our losses. If anyone has questions they'd like answered, they're more than welcome to come - and Felix, I do believe I told you I'd explain my methods at some point.

As for divination, do you expect real results? It occurs to me that a certain magic castle might not like you poking about its secrets.
