[Thanks to Larry not knowing how to operate a stepladder correctly, Phoenix is currently laid up in bed, blue cast on his right leg, and an endless stream of whining ever at the ready.
He's also incredibly bored. Painting and drawing got old long ago, and he can't seem to stay focused on anything he tries to read. Never mind that he could probably pretty easily get out of bed and actually do something despite his (not very severely) broken leg...
He whines, over-dramatic, into the journal.]
Don't trust Larry Butz, everybody... he'll just break your bones and make you miserable...
...on a related note, come and sign my cast.
[With a bit of apprehension, he adds a filter.]
Um... Trucy? ...mind keeping your uh... old man... company for a little while?
[Good lord but he feels ridiculous even asking this of a teenager he's only just recently met.]

[ She shrugs, again, unseen. ]
Hm... honestly, I don't know what we are. We were married, and I still have my ring, but I don't know if he has his. And we live together, now. Does that mean we're married?

Does being married mean that he won't ever leave?
dictated & filtered
It... means that he shouldn't ever leave. Sometimes people ditch marriages though--and sometimes they don't work out and both parties mutually agree to call it quits. But still, being married makes it... less likely for him to leave?

Then, I hope he thinks the same.
[ But she quickly changes the topic. ] I'm here.
dictated/action?
[Should she make her way down the hall and into Edgeworth's overly grand room, she'll find Phoenix sitting in the bed, pouting.]
quite! Action ;
When do you think it'll be better by?

[He heaves a dramatic sigh.]
It wasn't a very bad break, at least. Not too messy or anything.

That's a long time.
So how have you been? Besides breaking your leg, of course.

She pauses at the question, though. Should she say anything? Or inquire further about his recent behavior? ]
Mostly. Although lately he's been trying to do everything for me. [ She sits up straighter, moving her hands to her lap, trying to seem unaffected by the headache, as usual. ]

"Do everything" for you? ...are you still not feeling well? He mentioned that a while back.

He probably thinks I'm insane. He probably pities me.
