[ Scott's got his journal open, but he keeps flipping through the pages, so the only real sound for a minute is the sound of turning pages as he tries to grasp what's going on here. He's only sort of getting it, and he's still pretty rattled by all the nightmare things.

He was pretty sure that he was just in another one for the first day here, but considering the scene didn't change and nothing terrifying happened... maybe it was real? ]

Wow.

[ He clears his throat and speaks up a little. ]

Uh... hi. My name's Scott McCall. I'm new here, and I don't really know what's going on. So I'm... talking to a diary.

[ The more he speaks the dumber he feels. ]

Right, okay...

Look, I just want a way out of here that doesn't involve dying again. So if anyone could tell me how I can go home, that'd be great.

Either way, they're kind of unnecessarily stressing themselves out. It's pretty obvious it exists here, even if it didn't wherever they came from.

I'm pretty sure that you can't really explain a planet that can apparently kidnap people with science. At least, I kind of hope not.

[a pause ... well, this guy seems pretty chill, outside of the whole being tied to a tree and stabbed thing]

By the way, I don't think we were properly introduced.

[ Yeah that... probably wasn't the best time to have a first meeting with someone.

He sounds a little awkward though when she says that. She sounds familiar, so... if he's right and she's one of the girls he met in his dream. ]

I mean in general. [she won't go into detail, there, but it should be obvious what she means]

I'm Ino. And you are ... ?

[ Yeah, it definitely is. ]

[ A beat. ]

[and now, the other thing she wanted to address. she noticed his reaction when that gerard guy announced her job ...]

I work in the clinic, but hopefully we won't meet there.

Clinic? As in a medical clinic?

[ino]

Yep! I can use my energy to control and speed up cell growth, so it's pretty handy for closing up and fixing things like wounds and broken bones.

What like... enhancing the healing process?

[ino]

Basically. Stuff that takes weeks to heal naturally, I can fix up in a few minutes.

Are you... I mean is that like some kind of weird magic?

[ino]

I just explained it in scientific terms. It's not magic.

Well, it is. Just because it's beyond the realm of what you thought was possible doesn't mean it's magic.
