Is anyone keeping track of all these crazy things that are happening? It feels like the Castle needs an event planner or something. Who puts a really fancy ball right before horrific dreams that everyone can just wander through? That's emotional whiplash or something.

Though, I do want to say that the ball was a lot of fun. Even if it was slightly suspicious with the fairies, and shrinking down, and getting everyone really, super drunk. I met some new people there and there's never anything wrong with that. [There's a pause... she's trying to remember what she was going to say.]

I need to make a list before I open this thing, sometimes. It's like you know there's something important that you -- OH!

I still have my counseling office in the city, if anyone saw anything they weren't emotionally prepared for. I can totally arrange a group thing where we all just talk about it... or if you want to just talk about anything -- I'm totally an excellent listener and sometimes it just helps to say things out loud.

[She taps her pen on the page, even though she's not actually writing anything down.]

Is it too early to ask if anyone is going to dress up for Halloween?

Lucrezia: [ She does it without any qualms! Yay twirling. The song slows to a stop then and she lets go of the woman's hand to offer a deep curtsy, as tradition dictates. ]

Harmony: [Oh!! Harmony can do that too. She doesn't do it as deep, but she does attempt it.]

That was a lot of fun.

Lucrezia: [ She giggles, muted, then offers her a hand to lead her somewhere. ]

Harmony: [What's this? Adventure and mystery? OKAY! Harmony takes the hand and is a-okay with being led somewhere.]

[heloise]

[ Adventure is go! Lucrezia leads her toward one of the side rooms, but not before picking up glasses of fairy wine, one for each of them. She offers her the glass. ]

[Harmony appreciates the offered glass and smiles before taking a sip. She's not even out of breath from the dancing, but that's because she doesn't breathe. Oops.]

[ Her own glass is mostly for show as her mask doesn't allow drinking, unfortunately, hence the side room. She pushes the curtain open and holds it up for the other girl. ]

[Harmony allows her line of sight to fall to the raised curtain and she nods, moving to enter that side room. It's COZY feeling.]

It's like in a movie.

[ She twirls and drops onto the couch, tilting her head to one side and raising that glass of fairy wine. She may be tapping the seat beside her for Harmony. ]

[And sit Harmony does! She moves beside the girl and relaxes a bit, sipping at her wine.]

[ Lucrezia sets her glass beside her before reaching back to untie her mask, giggling as she places it beside herself. ]

You can call me Lamia, tonight.

Well that would help, wouldn't it? How long ago was that?

Oh, it was five years ago.

Not too long at all then.

No. I mean, I've adjusted pretty easily. The castle makes it a tiny bit complicated, but I'm doing really well.

[ That catches his attention. He can image all the various ways the castle might make life difficult for those of the magical persuasion. It sure hasn't made things easy for him. ]

[She lifts up her finger and nods.] Every morning, no matter what I do the night before, I wake up and completely forget that I'm a vampire.

[ He frowns at that. That seems a little stranger ]

Is that some sort of spell someone put on you?

A spell? Oh, no. It's my loss. I just lost the ability to remember that. It's totally crazy!

What's Halloween?

Halloween is a holiday! It happens on the last day of October, which is this month, and you dress up in a costume and go around to people's doors. You knock on it to show off your costume and they give you a piece of candy for your efforts.

[She beams at her own explanation.]

It's usually popular with adults that have tiny babies... or small dogs, young children, teenagers, and then college students that think they're not old.

Pretty much. I mean, I'm sure there's some crazy historical reason behind it, but most of the focus gets put on dressing up in fun costumes and getting free candy.

I'm not interested.

Do you not like candy?

[persequor]

No.

Is it because it's too much sugar? Maybe you just need something more savory. [Harmony loves to talk about food... because she can't really eat any of it.]
