Is it hard to ride?

Not terribly! It is easier than driving a car, because a horse can think for itself.

[magicalwright]

You'd think that'd make it harder. A car can't see a nice piece of hay and run off to eat!

Ah, but when riding into battle, a horse may help. A car would not be useful in battle when it would crash the moment you drew a sword.

That does make sense. Cars aren't really built for warfare. ... You need a tank! Then you wouldn't even have to draw your sword!

Oh? What is a tank?

[magicalwright]

Hm. Well, it's a big... machine. [ She grabs her journal from somewhere and draws a quick doodle for him. ]

They're really massive and have guns and you drive from inside! It's heavily armed too!

But what about precision? I could not easily leave or enter such a thing, and say I was looking for a very particular enemy.

Oh, like a ninja assassin? A tank probably isn't built for getting a precise person...

I suppose, but I do not know what a "neenja" is.

[I'm sure that sounds hilarious under his heavy Italian accent.]

Um, they do kung fu, wear a lot of black and sneak up on people! Like "HII-YAA!" [ Someone watches too much TV. ]

Hie-yah, hmm? Do you fight as well?

No, I just like day-time TV! What do you do?

I am a banker, I just enjoy stories about knights and justice.

[magicalwright]

Those are the best kind! Old fashioned stories about magic and knights are really interesting!

I certainly think so. I am glad they still have them in the future!

[magicalwright]

People will always want to read things like that! Especially the parts about magic.

Everyone loves magic!

I thought most people from this time were in love with science.

Well, yeah, they do but magic is entertainment! Everyone likes entertainment!
