[ Lana doesn't fall asleep accidentally very often these days. She's too wired, too stressed, too anxious, always too something. But when you're watching old movies, sprawled on a comfy couch, with a dinosaur sleeping half on your torso and a puppy covering your feet, it's hard to stay awake.
She awakens just before the doorbell rings, and Shadow is up to run downstairs and bark at the door like the terrible guard dog he is. Sansa wakes up confused and latches onto her arms, leaving Lana with little choice but to carry her awkwardly down to answer the door. A quick glance at the monitor lets her see who it is, so she's already smiling a bit when she opens the door, unaware of that silly journal open and recording nearby. ]
[ And for a moment, Ezio just stares at the dinosaur in Lana's arms, not quite sure what it is. Then, after a second of surprise, he manages to get something out of his mouth: ]
Well. I was going to be charming and handsome, but I was not expecting you to be holding a lizard the size of a child!
[ He holds out the bouquet he brought, anyway. There are dark red dahlias, yellow and orange calla lilies, purple trachelium, and orange roses, all suited for fall, and he offers them in a way that suggests he said something romantic, rather than that slight stumble. ]

That's right, you never met Sansa. She's feeling kind of clingy right now, sorry to have thrown you off your game.
[ Although she's not actually that sorry because it's fun seeing him try to subtly recover.
She doesn't expect Sansa to make short work of the flowers just as she's leaning over to smell them. ]

Ah, not at all, I was just a little startled... I do not think she likes my gesture to you, though... that, or she is hungry.
no subject
[ Oh wow, she feels pretty guilty about that. That was a really pretty bouquet. She's more accustomed to Sansa hiding from strangers rather than acting out at them. But of course, she probably is missing Oliver. ]
I'm so sorry. She shouldn't be hungry, but she doesn't normally do that! I think it's just bad timing.
If you come on in and shut the door, she should settle down eventually. I owe you now for ruining your flowers.
no subject
You owe yourself flowers, then, as they were a gift for you.
[He tentatively offers his hand to Sansa so sniff. Can lizards do that? He isn't sure.]

[ Lana's firm grip keeps Sansa from burrowing under her sweater, her little claws already having done somewhat of a number on the knit. She watches carefully this time as Ezio reaches out, although she doesn't expect to have to interfere.
But Lana needs to, anyway, jerking the little dinosaur back and away in a quick flash just as she tries to snap at the offered hand. Saved! ...But alas not a very subtle move with Lana's speed. She's too startled by Sansa's aggression to really have even noticed, though, instead blurting out an apology from across the room. ]
Sorry again! I'll put her up in my bedroom.

But he pushes that thought from his mind for now.
He's tempted to tease about what-if they want to go up to the bedroom, hmm?]
Ah, poor creature, desperate for attention. What is it?

[ Trying to soothe Sansa while she carries her up the stairs, Lana thinks of how the heck to even explain this to Ezio. Maybe the extinct part shouldn't matter just yet. ]
She's a dinosaur. An othnielia. [ HOPES SHE'S PRONOUNCING THAT RIGHT. ] It's a...big lizard, I guess that was an accurate description. But she's actually just a baby, I think these are supposed to get bigger.

[He follows, watching her curiously.]
Is it like a dragon?
/journal officially closed here yep
[ Whoops, now she sees the open journal as she walks by the table, and tries to knock it closed with her elbow. Urgh, she really hates her private life being broadcast, even the small things!
But she's distracted from commenting by his question, which makes her chuckle as she tries to set Sansa down just inside her bedroom. The dinosaur wastes no time in disappearing into the closet. Poor thing...
At least Shadow is there to go keep her company, because dinosaurs and dogs make the best of friends. ]
A dragon is...comparable, I guess. But she doesn't exactly breathe fire or fly, thank goodness.

[He watches the dinosaur toddle off, and he stays by Lana's side.]
Perhaps she will learn when she grows older.

[ Sansa won't grow in the first place, but that's not exactly the problem with that suggestion. But how to describe dinosaurs, especially when she really doesn't care about that right now?
After pulling her bedroom door shut, Lana regretfully takes the messed up bouquet properly and starts throwing the lost causes in the trash. A few flowers seem to have survived, so she finds a small vase for them. ]
I should just show you a film about dinosaurs. I wouldn't exactly call it accurate, but it's more-so than dragon lore, and a little more entertaining than a documentary.

How can there be a film about dinosaurs?

GUYS WHAT ARE YOU DOING]
Are you sure it's not a dragon? Apparently that's an easy mistake to make.
later!
no subject
You absolutely sure?
no subject
...Yes. I'd let you inspect her to satisfy your curiosity, but she's shy with strangers.
no subject
I've never heard of such a big lizard before. [LOL what are dinosaurs]
no subject
[ Well of course. B| What else should she expect. ]
Well, she doesn't make a lot of public appearances. Dragons and dinosaurs aren't really the same thing, but...the similarity in appearance might help her warm up to you faster. If you did want to meet her.
no subject
Really? That would be so cool! Uh...if it's okay, I mean.
no subject
Yeah, of course. Whenever you want.

Well, Twilight keeps me busy, but I can always find some spare time.
