Abel doesn't have much more to say than that; it seems all good things come to an end and this is no exception. his 'family' here couldn't last forever, and it had been... very good, while it lasted. time to go give what's left of it a big hug; the journal shuts quietly. he'll get back to your replies if you when he's done SQUISHING THE LIFE out of certain adorable children and badass women in a most conciliatory fashion.]

We're living in a world where God walked among us. In which of my wildest dreams could I have said I've come as close to Him as this? In which of those dreams would it have been possible...

He said there was a purpose in everything. Even if I weren't a priest, I would find some measure of value in that. It isn't often that a man hears the 'word of God' more clearly than that.

I believe we're here for a reason, Kate. Piety aside, having a purpose and seeing that what we do holds meaning -- that's important, and it's something I can't let go of. Even at the lowest of lows when it seemed just a cruel game, something always happened to give me hope that there's more than meets the eye at work.

We may never know the 'why' or 'how.' But... there is a why out there. Even if I leave here never knowing it, I will always believe that it was precious and what I did-- what you do... what we all do -- has a purpose.

I know what my purpose is, but Paradisa is less than helpful when it starts messing with our heads or our children.

God is here with us, even if not in the flesh, Kate. Don't you believe that?
