24 (forward dated slightly)
[In the early morning hours of Sunday, there are some smudged words appearing in the journals, written in blue ink and a sloppy hand. For once, he's heeding the possibility that most of the castle residents are likely still sleeping--and he's trying to be quiet.]
It's November 11.
I've been here for a year today.
[He pauses, considering how far he's come in that past year, contemplating what he does and doesn't want to list out for the whole castle to see. In the end, he settles on a very brief little written list, more for the benefit of his own memory than anything else.]
In November, I got here.
In December, I kissed Maya Fey and Geoffrey Chaucer, and I went to Paris.
January brought Miles.
In February, I gained my voice back again.
March saw some really amazing birthday gifts.
In April, Sunflower found me.
In May, I was a mermaid, a phoenix, and a father.
In June everything started to make a lot more sense.
July took away my closest friend in this place, and also gave me something more.
In August, I tried to lead artists.
In September, I met my daughter.
And in October, I broke my leg, lost my arm, became a pony, and existed in others' nightmares.
Let's see what you've got to throw at me for this next year, castle.
[And then, because it's been far too long coming, he scribbles in a filter.]
[ Maya Fey ]
Maya. I need to tell you something.

Maya. I need to tell you something.
dictated (and fashionably late xD)
It is as plain and as tacky as that atrocious blue suit you wear in court. Tell me...Attorney, you claim to have been here an entire year. How is it then that you've not found the source of these happenings and found a way out?
You mean to say that your ragtag team of cheerleaders have not been supplying any helpful hints?

The purpose of writing that list was for my own benefit. It wasn't for you... and you didn't have to read it.
["Or nag me about it," he'd like to add.]
Before you question me for not finding a way home in a year, why don't you talk to some of the folks who've been here for more than three?
This is all LOL-worthy
[Too bad so sad why did you make this public, now you're going to regret it.]
...Do you honestly expect me to believe you were a "mermaid"? Were you not entirely under the influence when you wrote this?
I suppose really it's nothing that concerns me, however ludicrous I find this "list" of yours.
Supposing any of this were true I am interested in knowing how it is you managed to tangle yourself in quite so many baffling situations without consequence.
[This is beginning to reflect..poorly, Mister Wright.]

[Still, he's on the other side of that journal, breaking pencils in half as he talks.]
And yes, I was a mermaid! Ask Mi--
["Ask Miles, he was there," he'd almost said.
But he stops himself.]
--ask around. I wasn't the only guy turned into a mermaid or a princess back then. And as for consequences? Don't think for a second I haven't suffered the consequences of all the crap that's happened to me while I've been here. At least there's been enough good to help balance out all the bad.

[And while he can hear the sound it will not stop him.]
Hmm. I expect you're too stupid to lie so blatantly. Still, I question the sanity of those who claim such things until I myself am given the evidence I seek to determine otherwise. But I cannot deny the overwhelming possibility that there may be merit to your words.
So tell me: Why is it simply the castle that you find fault with? Why do you all blame it?

Seems simple enough to figure out why we blame it. Surprised you didn't figure that out on your own.

I have come to doubt that that is the entire truth, and given the lack of solid evidence I am loathe to accept a mere "theory".

[Duped just like all the others.]
I am not required to answer to you. If I have more information it is more than I shall tell you.

Give their experience some credit.

Now stop wasting my time.

...and you're the one who's wasting my time, you know.
