a haon - the blood of cu chulainn
[a week and change had been more than enough time to be holed up in the clinic, as far as the MacManus brothers could figure. maybe some of the staff might disagree, but they'd been up and running sooner from worse injuries. the thing that had really held them back had been the unfamiliar territory ... but now that they felt steady and stable enough, it was time to change that.
a quick stop at the room Connor had found with their names on it was all they needed. Loading up laundry duffels with clothes from their bureaus and grabbing a few essential items from the bathroom, the twins sling their worldly possessions over their shoulders and head for the lobby]
Christ, I can't wait to get out in the fresh air...
Aye. ‘Bout fuckin’ time, too. [Connor buttons up his black pea coat and smirks at his brother. Without another word he shoves the big doors open and takes a deep breath of the crisp winter air.]
[the first deep breath pulls Murphy’s lungs tight with the cold, and he coughs as he tugs on a pair of short leather gloves] Arright, let’s see what we got here.... [he shuffles down the front steps and turns to face the castle, backing up as he tilts his head back to have a look, before turning back around to survey the road] Doesn’ look like it’s too far down. Walked farther’n’ that to the plant, I’d figure.
[Connor whistles as he looked up at the castle. Sure he’s walked around inside it, but it was different seeing the outside of the thing. Shaking his head, he strides down the steps and smacks Murphy in the arm] Shouldn’t take us too long, even with you hoppin’ along on one foot, now. [He cracks up and starts off before his brother can hit him]
You’ll see how good my foot is now when I kick you in the fuckin’ face with it! [laughing, he runs after his brother - only limping slightly, to House and Carson’s credit!]
((OOC: OPEN POST! Feel free to run into the boys just about anywhere you please - on their way to the lobby, out on the road, or in the town proper! … Orange has been Murph and green has been Connor. This post has been brought to you by Ireland.))

He takes their hands, one after the other.]
Captain John Geary, Comm... [A pause] The rest doesn't matter any more.
[He then looks up at the sky.] It's...weird, to say the least.

'slong it matters t'you that's what's important, aye?
no subject
I suppose you're right. I'm acting commander of the Alliance Fleet. Acting due to seniority.
[A pause, because this has been a common misconception.] Not the Alliance from Azeroth, or a naval fleet.

But just 'cause we don't know what yer talkin' about don't mean we can't talk, now, does it?
no subject
No, I guess not. Depends on what you want to talk about, though.

We're still new, here, so we're jus' tryin' t'get a feel for th'place.

[He smiles lightly.]
Yeah, all this stuff about magic is a bit far-fetched, I'll agree.
[But then again, he didn't believe in aliens until a few months ago. There's some uncertainty in his voice.]

When'd you get 'ere, Cap'n?

[He looks up to the sky again]
Just trying to... [A slight sigh] Get my bearings.

[Another look back at the stars before Geary looks back down to the twins.]
The stars are different, that's what bugs me the most.
[Spend enough time in them and they become like friends.]

... Fuck me, they are. Hadn't really noticed 'til just now... thought it was jus' that I got t' know th' sky over Ireland best.

[John stares up at the sky for a bit longer, before looking down.]
So, I take it you two are new arrivals, too, yeah?

[Geary honestly doesn't want to. The bed in his room is much more comfortable than the one on Dauntless.]
Found anywhere?
