Oh gee. A fountain pen. I really struck gold today. It's completely made my day.

I really do. I've been using a quill and ink until now.

Wow, pens are much more useful than quills, they won't run out of ink so quickly.

True, but they wanted us to use them at school and I guess I grew used to it.

Magical schools don't let you use pens?

[That seemed a little odd.]

No. Wizards don't use a lot of things that non-magical people do, such as the telephone and the postal system.

Why not?

We have magical means of communication instead. Wizards use owls or other birds to send their post, like carrier pigeons were used during war time.

Brother arrived a little while ago now, and we're making good use of the library together. I'd really like to talk again and maybe go exploring with you, it was fun last time and I bet it would be fun again.
