[In want of a quiet place to knit, Rose has taken her yarn and her needles into the library this morning, and commandeered a table near the back. She's just finishing up what looks like a tiny, purple sweater, but the recipient of the garment doesn't seem to like it took much.]

Edgar, yarn isn't a digestible material. Please refrain from eating your own clothing.

[A tiny black kitten, who's been rolling around on the table, gently drops the sweater sleeve from his mouth before meowing loudly into the journal and hopping off the table to explore the rest of the library.]

[This armoured behemoth is a common sight in the library. Jorge seems to be taking the time when it's peaceful to read as much as possible.

He's only really distracted by the kitten wandering around his feet and looks down.]

He'd been here for so long that he completely lost track of the time. He'd decided it was best to leave now and get some sleep only to catch sight of that cat as he's getting up from his chair.]

[Kitty? Kanji loves cats, so he'll crouch down and reach out a hand to pet it. He doesn't even notice that others might see.]

Color is appetizing. [ Duke's attempting to read braille, which isn't really going well for him because he doesn't know the subject of the books he's been pulling out. He's fairly sure he knows what "a" is. or maybe it was "i". ]

[He's just returning a few books on demonic possession and exorcisms nearby, and looks over in vague amusement when he hears the commentary]

They are not a species that require clothes, you are aware?

[That little kitten sure is attracting a lot of attention, some of which isn't entirely new to Rose. Toothless has come into the library and the kitten's found him, so he's leaning down and sniffing at the little guy.]

[Rose is amused by their mutual interest, and peeks over her knitting to keep an eye on them.]

Just try not to eat the poor thing.

[She doesn't miss a beat, still keeping her eyes on the partial-sweater in front of her.]

No species requires clothing, unless you're referring strictly to social norms, rather than a biological necessity.

[She looks up at these three words, having not noticed him before, then gives an unenthusiastic hum of acknowledgement.]

Is it, now? I can't say I've heard that particular opinion from anyone other than one Miss Pyrope.

[Well, the kitten has caught the attention of a familiar elf. It's hard not to pay attention to a little something pawing playfully at the hem of your gown. She bends down and scoops the little guy up.]

Well, little one. What brings you here?

[Rose looks up from her knitting.]

Careful. He hasn't yet learned that strangers' hands are not there for him to assassinate.

[Rose doesn't even look up when Eridan speaks, more out of choice than lack of noticing. The cat, however, decides that slinking up to rub against Eridan's legs would be an excellent idea right now.

Hope you aren't wearing any black, Ampora.]

[It takes Rose a second to switch her attention from the sweater to this strange little kid, but when she does she just raises an eyebrow.]

I'm afraid this is the only one I've seen in the library. There are probably more somewhere.

[Rose looks surprised for approximately half a second, but she's seen plenty of excessive armor around this place, so her face quickly smoothes over.]

I'll warn you, he isn't above pouncing on fingers.

[Rose lowers the sweater, keeping an eye on Edgar in case he makes a swipe at her face.]

The library seemed a quiet place to work. But I'm afraid keeping track of Edgar is beginning to cancel out the benefits.

[Even if she wasn't, standing at 7'8" causes Jorge to get a lot of stares. Even sitting down, in a specially wished up chair, causes a few looks.

He lowers a hand down to the kitten.]

It's alright. Not like he could get through the glove.

I was referring to it's fur, as a method of staying warm within the winter. But if you think your skin has no biological frailty in the face of it, then you are welcome to test your theory.

[Yes he croons that at the cat. He's a sucker for cute things. Then he smiles at Rose.]

[still wiggling her finger so the little kitten can play-bite and bite at it. so cute... but then she'll smile up at Rose.]

[Yeah, Toothless doesn't eat.. whatever this is.

He's laid flat on the ground to get a good look at this furry little creature that bared some vague resemblance to him, and now it's crawling onto his head. D'aw.]

[And Eridan doesn't even notice Rose because-- well, no, he's just not paying attention. He's too focused on both the cat and pulling away from it.]
