[Kanji has the most "foolproof" plan. Certain conversations have convinced him that he should give reverse chocolates for Valentine's and he wants to put that extra effort in. His friends are worth it, dammit, and if girls can give friend chocolates, so can he.

But the idea of getting caught making Valentine's chocolates is embarrassing as hell. He's not that comfortable with himself yet. So, here he is trying to "cleverly" disguise his chocolate making activities down in the kitchen. By announcing them over the journals. Yeah, he's pure genius, this boy.]

So, Valentine's is coming down on us real fast and I know most girls just go and buy their chocolates 'cause it's easier, but going the extra mile and making your own is real cool and awesome, you know?

I also kinda know that a lot of girls 've never made chocolates, and chocolates are tricky to get right. I've done it before for White Day and shit so, uh, I thought that if anyone wanted I'd show people how. 'Cause we're stuck here together, and helping each other out 'll make things better for everybody. And if any of you guys are gonna do reverse chocolates, you're welcome too. I'll be down in the kitchen if anybody wants to take me up on it.

[Yes, this is his plan. It is an ironclad excuse if anyone comes down and sees him making chocolates, right? Right? He also has no idea how Valentine's is even celebrated outside Japan. Whoops!]

Nah, it's no big deal. My spirit'll replenish while I sleep and I haven't gotten much practice with him lately either, so it's a good excuse.

[And off he goes, leading the way outside and a good distance from the castle.]

[ he dutifully stands some distance away, and looks on with interest. he's very curious to see this display. ]

[Kanji grins and holds out his hand. Light coalesces in his palm and morphs into a spinning card which he smashes. Then in a burst of light this giant comes out of him. It follows his movements when Kanji thrusts out his hand and, well! He just electrocuted that rock over there good, with a massive bolt of lightning. Then with a shimmer, the giant is gone and Kanji runs his hand through his hair sheepishly.]

I've got physicals too, and I'm a lot better at those, but you wanted to see a spell so...

[ ...!!! well, that certainly was something. dumbledore steps back a bit more, and casually flicks away any stray bits of rock that fly at him, but otherwise doesn't take his eyes off the giant until he's gone. then he turns back to kanji, eyes bright. ]

I did indeed. I suppose that was Rokuten Maoh?

Yeah. He's my Persona. He's real cool, but not so good at spells. They tire me out quick.

Persona... a physical embodiment of your inner self?

[ that's just conjecture, but it's the first thing that come to his mind. ]

He's very impressive... were you born with the ability to manifest him?

Uh. I'm not really clear on that! I had to face my shadow first, but not everybody that faces their shadow gets one either. I don't really know much about all the fancy explanations behind it, I guess.

So then it's not a common ability in your world?

Nope. Or if it is, people who have it hide it pretty well! Only people I know with it are me and my friends.

Eve more selective than I'd imagined. The Wizarding population is relatively small, but it spans across the world nonetheless.

Well there might be more! But we can't go and and start talking about it with everyone. I don't think nobody would believe us, you know, unless they had a Persona too.

Ah, yes... I do indeed know. Secrecy seems to be a common thread with extra-ordinary abilities in every world.

Wish it wasn't. It's nice here, that I don't gotta hide some of my skills. I'm kinda sick of hiding.

Yeah, it really can. One of the good things about this place.

I agree. Believe me when I say that I would have never walked into a communal kitchen and performed a spell in front of a stranger, at home.
