[Sheena's been keeping to herself the past few days, hiding in her room reading over journal entries and replying here and there, but for the most part, she's been quiet when it's come to her own. She knows that she needs to apologize to those she had dealt with while under the influence of the illness, but each time she's reached for her journal to do so, she's allowed herself to be sidetracked by other entries.

This can't go on any more; she knows if she lets it go on too long, she may never get the chance to do this again, so she takes a deep breath and begins.]

I am so sorry to those I may have harmed or mistreated recently--it really wasn't my intention.

I-- I really don't know what else to say. I never should have done that, and I'll understand if you hate me and don't want to be my friend any more.

Gods, of all the people for me to do that to. We've been through too much to let something like this ruin our friendship, and I can't apologize enough for letting things get so out of control.

[There really are so many times she can blame the castle or another influence for making her act a certain way before people have had enough and she's cut out of their lives for good. She's just going to have to try harder to resist things.]

So much for my theory about it being cave system. If only I hadn't made that rubbing or made those copies... None of this would have happened.

Sheena, why would I hate you? I was the one acting out of hand, and you were the one looking out for me. I...I should be the one apologizing to you, okay?

[She gets back to him a lot later--after trying to think of something to say.]

You should hate me for slamming you up against the wall and keeping you there. That's not what I believe in!

Sheena! [He sounds surprised, and it sounds like he's on the verge of lecturing her like a disappointed parent.] Sheena, what are you saying?! I would never hate you! Heck, I hurt people in much worse ways than you, what you did was nothing compared to what I did!

Sheena, really, I'm still your friend, no matter what.

You don't understand, Garry. I protect people so they can live the way they want without being sacrificed or sacrificing others.

I don't turn on my friends like that.

But hey, you were trying to protect me, even under the influence of the virus! That's a good thing, Sheena. Really, to be so selfless...that's really a sign of being a good person, and I could never hate you for trying to do that for me.

[And he's like the most martyr-like person of them all, I mean, really.]

It's not good when I injure the person I'm trying to protect, Garry. Your life wasn't even in danger until I came along! Don't you see that?

[And she's the most guilty person he'll ever meet.]

But it was, Sheena, don't you realize? I was going around hurting others, at one point I would've messed with the wrong person and got into a situation I never intended to! So...honestly, Sheena, I'd rather face you any day than have somebody I don't know beat me up because I was under the influence of a stupid virus, you hear?

Nonsense. If the idiots who thought a cave full of gold and no warnings was a good isolation system, we'd not have been intrigued enough to investigate. And the course of the infection clearly demonstrated that the disease spread by touch, so it would have infected us regardless.

I touched one of the coins, Raine, then touched other things. Is that how it traveled?

[Never mind that others helped pass it along, you know. Geez, Raine, kick her or something.]

Sheena, if it was on all those coins, you're hardly the only one at fault. No less than half the expedition touched them or snuck some home when they thoughts others weren't looking.
