[For the moment, Faye is sitting in her room in the castle, curled up on the window nook. Her journal is in front of her, her fingernails tapping lightly on the cover as she stares blankly out the window. With a sigh, she flips open the journal, looking at a blank page before speaking.]

If anyone out there knows how the other me got home, don't hesitate to fill me in.
I know I was originally destined for riches and all, but I just need to get out of this castle.

Where do people live in this place if they don't live in the castle?

[She lets a brief pause go by as she leans back into the couch cushions.]

Are you planning on camping here all night?

[gottaknockhard]

[He shrugs.]

I am pretty fond of this couch.

[3nterprising]

That's no surprise. Did you even have a bed on the Bebop? If so, you never used it much.

[gottaknockhard]

[For the record, he'd much rather talk about his old couch habits than Vicious or his break in problems. If Faye is just giving him a break, he'll take it..]

My room didn't have a fan. [As if that explains everything.]

You don't need one. You just have one.

[gottaknockhard]

[She laces her fingers together and stretches her arms above her head.]

I guess I'm just not used to getting answers from you.

[gottaknockhard]

[Spike frowns, but says nothing to that. There's definitely something else on his mind that he isn't going to mention. Debt can only take him so far.]

[Faye notices his frown, but doesn't acknowledge it.]

What are you gonna do to this guy when you catch him?

[gottaknockhard]

Break his legs. [He could be kidding, but it's hard to tell.]

[3nterprising]

That'll stop him for a little while.

[gottaknockhard]

We'll see.

[3nterprising]

Hm.

[Faye folded her hands behind her head, feeling the softness of the cushions. She stared at the ceiling, far away as it was, perhaps to stop herself from staring at him.]

You got another cigarette?

[gottaknockhard]

[Spike makes no move to reach for one.]

Maybe.

[3nterprising]

Maybe you wanna gimme one?

[gottaknockhard]

[Ordinarily, Spike would make a point in telling her she could wish for her own cigarettes instead of bumming off of him. But after a quiet moment of reflection, he reaches for the box in his pocket and hands it to her.

Enjoy his generosity while you can, Faye.]

[3nterprising]

[It wasn't something Faye was expecting. In fact, it was almost shocking. She almost didn't feel right taking one.

[Almost.

[She relished the generosity, slowly opening the box and extracting a cigarette and the lighter he'd tucked inside. It wasn't until she'd lit her cigarette and taken a deep drag that she handed back the box.]

[He doesn't say anything else about it, just leans back and exhales. And if she does, he'll blame it on the pain medication he's on. Favors are easier to repay when she doesn't know he owes her any.]

[3nterprising]

[Faye sits quietly, enjoying her pilfered cigarette for a time. But something was nagging at her; something he'd mentioned.]

Is he the one who did it?

[gottaknockhard]

[He'll pretend that he doesn't already know what she means.]

Did what?

[3nterprising]

Gave you those bruises.
[Her voice gets a little quieter, although she isn't quite sure why.]

Was it Vicious?

[gottaknockhard]

[...Funny, even when he's the one who brings it up, hearing someone else say that name still puts him on edge.]

You think I'm getting predictable?

Maybe the both of you are.
