Thirty-sixth Spell

This will be my second Christmas spent here in Paradisa. Last year turned out quite nice. I hope that whatever the castle may do to us, we'll still get to spend time together on Christmas. I spent so many Christmases with my friends over the years that I couldn't imagine doing it any other way.

[she shifts to a more comfortable position. She has taken a place in the lobby with a small self-contained fire that she conjured. There are nutcrackers around waiting to strike]

Oh yeah, we have a big feast, sing songs. It's all about being with the people you care about and showing them you love them.

That's what it's like anywhere. Though I imagine your songs aren't anything like the ones sung around Hogwarts.

[ He really has to stop meeting her in the lobby like this. At least not during plots because that's just so unfortunate for pleasant, normal conversation.

At least he's learned by now and when he stops to talk to her he's standing a good seven feet away. ]

If it's your second year here I'm sure you'll have more than your fair share of people to spend the holidays with if nothing else.

[ He gives her an uncertain look, but takes a step forward. ]

I'd certainly hope not.

[she gets up, carrying the flame in a little bottle]

I didn't think you would be nervous around girls.

[ Okay, that gets to him. He scoffs and walks the rest of the way over towards her. James Potter, nervous around girls? Hardly! ]

And here I was trying to be polite with the recent outburst of snogging going around the castle, but if you're going to be like that I really don't see a point in it.

There's no danger of me snogging you, I promise. It would be like kissing my brother.

[ He takes a few seconds to give her a critical look to decide if he's offended or not by that statement. ]

We've hardly known each other that long.

You remind me of my best friend. He's the one I think of as my brother.

[Oh, it's the bookworm. Either Marceline didn't catch her name or she doesn't remember, she's really not sure. Oh, well, she floats over.]
