[He bites his lip. He wants to say not to go; that he's sorry for being so skittish, that the only reason he was so nervous was because he idolized Giotto so much, because Giotto was so great and he was just No-Good Tsuna.

But that would come too dangerously close to him having to tell Giotto why he idolized him, how he knew who the man was. So he'll go with the lesser of two evils, even if he still feels guilty.

she's pretty sure giotto knows what's going on, given he was looking around before. and also he's the one who tsuna is afraid of, not the other way around.

so she's sending him a telepathic message from her hiding place up on a rooftop. it's clearly in her voice, so it shouldn't be too hard to recognize --

"Wait just one second! You're seriously just gonna leave him right there??"]

[Giotto startles for a moment, but quickly recovers, sliding his hands into his pockets, one absently petting the kitten.

His mental voice, Ino, is Not Happy.

"Yes, I am. Because it is obvious that I am distressing him. What did you even hope to accomplish with this, other than sending him into fits?"]

[ino]

[yeaaah she kinda figured he would be annoyed. but him being annoyed with her is less important than him getting along with tsuna, and it shows when she replies.

"He's shy! And he looks up to you. Just be patient with him."

"... Please."]

[He is far past annoyed, Ino.

"For what reason, I have no idea. I am no one particularly special to look up to. I will not torment him further just because you wish us to get along. He is obviously frightened of me, and if he wishes to avoid me, he can. Tricking us with notes and dropping women's laundry on him is just forcing the issue."]

[It's at this point Tsuna notices that Giotto's stopped walking only a few paces away, and he looks at him curiously.

[SIGH. fine, giotto, she will just drop this one on you, since you are being difficult!!!

"It's not tormenting him! You guys are related! And family should stick together. Right?"]

[He has stopped walking, Tsuna, because your not!sis has decided that she must be difficult.

"I already knew that he was related to me. It is the only possible explanation for any of this. And he, obviously, knows enough about me to fear me." Though nice try, playing the family card. But right now he thinks the best thing for Tsuna is to just leave him alone.]

[dammit, giotto .... she pinches the bridge of her nose for a moment, before replying again.

"He's not scared for the reasons you think. And you're the only one who can help him with some of the things he's going through right now.

Please, Giotto. I'll owe you one. I already do, but ..."]

[Giotto's eyes narrow at that.

"Oh no. I know exactly why he is afraid of me. He is afraid of me because of what he thinks I will make him do, my legacy. He is not my Family, Ino. My Family is full of nice, wonderful people who will do anything to insure order and justice. No, Tsuna is just my family, a blood relation who has accidentally been caught up in this dark world because he shares my blood, and no other can hold the title without dire consequences.

And I will not put him through anymore than he has already suffered because you think I can help him. Because I cannot give him answers."]

[He almost doesn't hear Tsuna, as he is too focused on Ino. But the voice comes through to Giotto and he waves a dismissive hand at him.] Hush, Tsuna.

[ino]

["He's the one who needs to hear that, not me. If you have no intention of continuing your work here, then tell him so! It'll put him at ease.

And don't hush him like that!"

And then she's silent. TALK TO HIM, GIOTTO.]

[Just kind of... watching him rofl... why is he standing there...........]

[He gives an aggravated sigh and turns back to Tsuna, pinching the bridge of his now. Damn it, Ino. Why must you do this.] Tsuna, I wish we could pretend that we both don't know who the other is and go about our lives, but that seems to not be allowed.

...I do not actually wish to have women's underwear dropped on me. Or something even worse.
