Case 3: The Unexpected Companion

[unnaturalpause]

[There is now dog slobber seeping through the journal, and a young boys voice comes through.]

Toby come on, put it down! We don't need the book! Put it down! They'll hear us!

[Then the sound of tug of war with the dog.]

Let go!

[And then there's the sound of something hitting the floor and a bark. But then it's quiet (no he hasn't closed his journal just flipped it upside down).

What is he trying to hide? Well little Jimmy has decided to stalk the halls of Paradisa, Toby following along with him, a bucket full of various liquid (mostly water or paint filled) balloons with him, throwing balloons at various residents as they find them, hiding behind various things in order to get them by surprise.]

[ And guess who is walking through the corridor completely unaware? Her journal was shut in her bag (with something tied around it since it liked to open on her) so she hadn't even noticed the commotion with the young boy and his dog, not until she walks past them. And even then? A child with his toys and dog weren't an unusual sight so she didn't bat an eyelid (or it wouldn't normally be unusual, but she was still working on what should be out of place). So. Have an unaware victim? ]

[unnaturalpause]

[Oh hi Christina! Jimmy and Toby are just chilling by a plant, a bucket near them as she passes by. They look innocent, really so when she's gone by them? Well have an incoming balloon Christina, full of paint (of your choice in color!)! The only signal of it? The bark from Toby in something like warning.]

[arealwoman]

[ The bark went ignored, at least until the balloon his. It hit her square on with surprising force from a child (although the weight of the balloon from the paint helped that). And now there's a lovely red paint mark on her back, made worse by the fact that her top was a pale colour.

Stopping walking Christina put a hand to wear it hit to find out what it was, even less happy by the fact that it was paint than perhaps just water. And so she turned, eyes landing straight on the young boy ]

Do you mind?

[unnaturalpause]

[Oops sorry about the well, ruined shirt Christina. Jimmy however is not at all apologetic, shrugging as he pets the dog next to him, shuffling his feet a little too.]

I dunno, why should I?

[arealwoman]

You could hurt someone with that. [ Meaning she's going to end up with a bruise and not be happy about it ]

[unnaturalpause]

No I couldn't, I'm not like throwing it in their face or anything. [And now he's throwing a water filled balloon at her even as Toby lays down, paw over his face, very disapproving of this.]

[arealwoman]

And you think that your face is the only place you can get hurt? [ She tries to move from this one though it still catches her on the arm ] You stop that.

[unnaturalpause]

Well it's the only place you get hurt and it shows and it makes people cry. [And NOPE! ANOTHER balloon your choice of filling.] Nope.

[arealwoman]

It's not the only place that shows. [ And he was doing this to make people cry? Bloody cheek. But when she saw that next balloon? She's already making sure her arms are protecting her ] You're not going to want to keep doing that. [ Not if he was here a while ]

[unnaturalpause]

Yeah well, still. [No he's not, it's just the first thing to come out of his mouth. He's just a kid.] And why not? [Because now he's taking a step back, Toby letting out a small growl. Nope don't touch the boy Christina, just don't.]

[arealwoman]

[ Not an answer, James. And she wouldn't have done that, she being the term ] There are people here that would not be good to anger.

[unnaturalpause]

[It is too. Just no the one you wanted.] Yeah? Why's that? What are they gonna do?

[jammin_with_ed]

[This one is haunting the lobby, today. She's currently hiding behind a pillar spying on anyone who walks by.]

[unnaturalpause]

[Jimmy is presently lugging his bucket with him, half full of balloons, Toby following along, very much unaware of being watched.]

[jammin_with_ed]

huh?

[She starts following him, trying to be sneaky... And MOSTLY succeeding]

[unnaturalpause]

[The huh gets Toby to turn around, tail wagging even as Jimmy goes on. Nope on ignore Ed at least from him.]

Come on Toby, we have things to do.

[jammin_with_ed]

[ooooo puppy! She starts making silly faces at the dog.]

[unnaturalpause]

[The silly faces get a bark from Toby who starts to wander over, making Jimmy frown when he realizes he's not there beside him. So he turns around.

And just stares.]

[jammin_with_ed]

[Oh, wait, someone paying attention to her. She grins and waves]

Hiii!

[unnaturalpause]

[And he's now tilting his head at that, trying to figure you out.]

Hi? [Yes he's confused and he's waving back slightly.] What are you following me for?

[jammin_with_ed]

Because Edward's a detective!

[Clearly that explains everything]

[unnaturalpause]

That's stupid kids can't be detectives! [Have the biggest pout Ed.]

[jammin_with_ed]

Yes they can! Edward's a detective, and a cowboy and a net diver!

[unnaturalpause]

What's a net diver? [He's just staring at her really confused now, rubbing the back of his head. Girl make sense :/]

A haaaaaacker!! The net is the iiiiiiiiinternet!

[unnaturalpause]

What's that? Like both, because I dunno what you're talking about.

[jammin_with_ed]

On the compuuuuter!

[unnaturalpause]

What's a computer? [He's totally giving you a wtf look Ed :/]

You don't know what a compuuuuuuter is?

[Poof! Edward's computer is suddenly sitting on her head. She grins] Computer!

[unnaturalpause]

No I don't.

[And OMG he's just going to flail at that now.] Oh cool!

[She giggles]

Edward made it! Edward makes loooooots of things.

[unnaturalpause]

Like what? What else can you make?

Edward can make lots of stuff! Edward's made remote control planes and cars... a catapult... a satellite dish...
