[Anyone passing by the kitchen probably smells the burning. The journal, currently open and being used as a fan is letting the scent of burned cookies waft through the pages. She's not sure what she did wrong, but as the smoke clears, she realizes her mistake.]

Dammit. [She puts the journal down on the counter, open still, as her hands run through her hair. She coughs a bit, but tries to start cleaning up the mess.]

Damn! [She drops the cookie sheet quickly, not realizing how hot it would still be. Her hand will heal fast, but her ego is having a pretty rough day.]

Baking is not as easy as that blonde made it seem.

[Shatterstar is in the kitchen, making... popcorn. It's just not the same if he wishes it up. The burnt cookie smoke is kind of unavoidable, though he gives her a sympathetic smile]

The first time I tried to make cookies, I set off the sprinklers. Jaime was very unhappy.

[She blanches at the comment, glancing to the ceiling.] Hadn't even thought of that.

Think I gotta worry about that here?

[He glances up at the ceiling, and then back at her]

[She nods and moves to the sink to rinse her hand under the cold water, then moves the cookie sheet under the cold water too. The burned cookies turn to ... burned mush and slide away.]

It would be rather unfortunate, yes. I doubt soggy popcorn is much good, personally.

Yeah, bit of trouble with the temperature of the oven. I thought I had it right, but maybe I moved it on accident.

These cookies are chunks of burned, now.

[She sucks in air through her teeth; an audible wince.] I'm sorry to say you can't really fix that kind of problem.

Maybe, who knows. I've never really used the kitchen like this before. [She frowns.]

Yeah, I figured they were stuck burned.

When the smoke clears.

[Dirk has the horrible misfortune of being near the kitchen when the smell of burning cookie wafted out of it. Despite the smell, he couldn't help but go check it out. On finding the sight in front of him, he quirks an eyebrow, arms folded over his chest.]

It smells like you took a shit on the cookie sheet and then stuck it in the oven. It's really inconsiderate of you to subject the occupants of the castle to that, y'know. Ass-cookies are hardly festive.

[Faith lifts an eyebrow at this guy.]

It's just burned sugar cookies, you don't have to be a dick about it.

I'm not being a dick, I'm being honest. Though, I can see how you might confuse the two. It'd be a good idea to try and differentiate between the two better, though.

[A pause.]

Yeah, I was being honest too. You were being a dick. [Telling her that her baking is the equivalent of taking a shit on a cookie sheet isn't cool. She actually followed the recipe and the stove got turned too high on accident. Rapunzel even thinks the castle might've done it.]

I'm sure you can understand that I'm not confused at all when I say I don't want your help.

[The burning smell alone is enough to catch his attention. The damns? Pretty much guaranteed he'd come running in to see if Faith is okay. Steve I don't think the burning cookies are going to kill Faith.] Everything okay?

[Faith stops rinsing the sheet of burned cookies off and glances to him.]

Fire wasn't a fire, Steve. I burned the stupid cookies. [She holds up her fingers.] Burned my hand too, but it's almost healed now.

[He frowns.] Do you want some ice anyways? [He's heading to the refrigerator regardless.]

[She cracks a smile.] I put it under some cold water. Really, it'll be fine.

[Glancing to the cookie... mush of burning, she sighs.] The cookies, not doing as well.

[He's passing close enough by to spot her accident as it happens]

You should get that under cold water.

The cookies? [Slight confusion here.]

Oh. [she shakes her head] I'm fine. I heal pretty quick.

[Brock happens to be strolling by on his way to wherever, and that's ... you know, not that difficult to miss. Between the smoke and the burnt smell, it's not that big of a mystery that something unfortunate just happened in the kitchen.

He pokes his head through the door, brow furrowed.]

Are you okay in here?

Yeah, just a small... burning cookies until they're charred black circles... thing.

[she coughs and then glances to him.] Sorry about the smoke.

Listen, between all the cigarettes me and my wife go through in a day, smoke doesn't bother me.

[He does wave his hand to try and clear the air, though, as he walks in.]

What kind were you trying to make?

Uh... the book said sugar cookies. I think I did that part right, it's just the oven mix-up.
