[She gives a little nod. That's her.] I received a similar package- one I assume was meant for you. [A slight smile] I believe our mutual friend wished for us to meet.

[He restrains himself from smiling because that sometimes sets people on edge, so the corners of his mouth twitch a bit instead. He holds the box out.]

That sounds like Lucrezia, alright.

[She accepts the box and gestures into the room.]

Won't you come in? It would seem a shame for you to seek me out for so short a meeting.

[He has do duck to fit under the doorframe because he's so tall, but he graciously accepts her invitation.]

Thanks. I don't want to be a burden or anything, so I won't keep you that long ...

You would be no burden, I assure you.

[She gestures toward the couch and goes to grab the little box she had received.] You know my name, but I fear I do not yet know yours.

If you're sure ...

[He sits down carefully, curling his tail up next to him. Sofas were never really comfortable things to sit in due to the tail, but he did his best.]

Oh, I'm sorry. I'm Hellboy.

A pleasure.

[That's...an interesting name, but she won't comment on that either (poor fellow probably gets that constantly). Instead, she sits on the sofa next to him, holding the box he had given her in her lap and handing him the one she had found at her door.]

Perhaps this will mean something to you.

[He appreciates the lack of questioning, for real. It does get tiring after awhile.

He tilts his head curiously when she hands him the second box, carefully opens it, and then takes the rosary out.]

It's a rosary. [Maybe elves don't know what that is, he doesn't know what kind of world she's from, so he continues --] They're sort of like prayer beads.

[Her understanding of Christianity is very basic. A lot of the trappings of Catholicism are still beyond her, to be honest.]

I see. [Kind of. Prayer beads aren't really much of a thing in Middle Earth either.] A fitting present from Lucrezia. You share her faith, then?

[He spends a second looking over the rosary, absently winding it around his fingers as he glances up at Galadriel.]

Yeah. I think she's a little more devout than me, though. [Her brother's a cardinal, so she must be ...]

She seems more devout than most. [She may not understand much of the religion, but she can tell that. She glances at the box in her lap.] If you do not mind? I am certain you are as curious as I am.

[Hellboy blinks, feeling a little stupid for not suggesting she open hers first. He's a guest in her home, after all.]

No -- go right ahead. It seems like she's pretty good at picking out gifts, so let's see what she got you.

[And she will! But when she opens up the package and pulls out the golden garland, she bursts into laughter. He'll have to wait a moment if he wants an explanation.]

[He blinks again, watching her curiously. Is this some sort of ... elf joke ...

Women are confusing!] I guess it means something to you.

[She nods, still smiling broadly.] My name translates as "crowned with a radiant garland." It should not surprise me that she remembered.

[Wow, he feels a small twinge of jealousy at that. What a great name, particularly in comparison to his. Oh well ... he chuckles a little, shaking his head.]

That's cute. She has a mind like a sponge, I swear. Girl remembers everything.

[Well, to be fair, it's the third name she was given. She's gonna pick the best one.]

She is a clever little thing. It will serve her well.

[Hellboy's other name is even worse. He'll stick with the one that's obvious and a little dumb rather than the one that implies he's a Prince of Hell, thanks.]

The world could use more clever people.
