Merry Christmas everyone! What did you all get for presents?
[Once-ler]
[..................]
S-seriously? [IT'S NOT EVEN HIS SIZE]
[Arya]
I have a present for you, but I need to see you in person. So can you meet me on the sixth floor of the castle by the elevator?
[Everyone who got him a gift (minus Once-ler)]
[This filter will appear whenever Tsuna seems to have received all of his gifts.]
Thank you all for the gifts. They really mean a lot!
[Action for Casa de Guts]
[Tsuna's in the kitchen with a bag of candy off to the side, along with a pair of daggers, one mithril, another jagged and exuding a gentle warmth. What he seems most perplexed about, however, is the black scarf in his hands. He talks softly to himself.]
Where did this come from? Am I missing the tag somewhere? It definitely says it's to me, but...
(Feel free to assume that all of Tsuna's gifts have been delivered! If you want to play out a particular gift-giving just make a thread here?!)

Nothing on it's own. But Half-elves are looked down upon in Tethe'alla. They're the bottom of the caste system.

Social class. You know - nobility, royalty, merchant, peasant? C'mon, I know Earth has that sorta stuff.
Zelos
Oh, I... think I kind of know what you're talking about?
Tsuna
Anyway, all you need to know is- in Tethe'alla half-elves are treated like dirt.
Zelos
... but why? [oh lord]
Tsuna
Zelos
Yeah, I do.
Tsuna
Part of it is racial differences. Half-elves can live up to a thousand years, while humans can only live about eighty years. Meaning a human will grow old and die while it looks like any half-elves around them don't age a day. There's also magic- you can't deny that a magic user could be extremely dangerous if they don't control themselves. So those abilities cause a lot of fear, uneasiness and resentment among human populations. That reason has been around since even Martel's time.
But more recent than that, another problem is historical context. Humans are in power in Tethe'alla now, but that wasn't always the case. Long ago, there was a group of half-elves that would prey on human populations and commit outright slaughter through attacks and human ranches until the Chosen of that time completed the journey that overthrew them. Sure, that was a long time ago- but memories can last a long time. And it doesn't help that the long half-elven lifespan means it's very possible some of those same half-elves that treated Tethe'allans like cattle are still alive today. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if they are a few and were in Sylvarant doing that same stuff until they got overthrown recently.
Of course one has to consider the political side to it too since that's the real fire in the oven. If someone wants to grab hold of power? The less competition, the better. Or even better than that, find a scape goat so people won't look too closely at the corruption going on with you. So people in power, like the last Pope, would cite Half-elves as the problem with society and fuel all the uneasiness towards half-elves in order to keep attention off his own schemes. And since people weren't all that fond of half-elves due to historical and racial differences, they would buy into it. And previous uneasiness towards half-elves turns into full out hatred and prejudice.
Did you understand any of that?
Zelos
I think I understood a bit of it. You're saying it's because people are afraid of them, and because they've done bad things in the past. So... that made them weaker, in a way? Because they're, um. Oppressed? [Is that the right word?] And because of that people can put the blame on them without having to be afraid of them defending themselves.
Is... that sort of right?
Tsuna
But that's right. Half-elves were already unpopular among humans, and people who want more power feed on that. Kinda like when bullies choose to pick on a kid that's already unpopular in school, right?
Zelos
...right.

But anyway, most people are too busy living their own lives to keep up with the power struggles of the court. And even the ones who did notice- well what can they do about it? It's a monarchy, not a de-
Wait, you do know what a monarchy is right?
