[ The journal opens on the question. Catching sight of something bright red out the corner of her eye, Arya leaves Aemon to his carrot. The large white raven on her shoulder digs its claws into her skin as she walks making her hiss softly in pain. She has to smile, though, at the long-suffering expression of the mule with the biggest and most ridiculous red bow around its neck she has ever seen. It even has blinking lights. ]

Are you someone's present too? This one is mine. Except he didn't have a bow. I think he'd have pecked it off if he did. Here.

[ She offers the mule a carrot as she reaches for the bow. ]

Do you have a name? ...Melvin. Melvin the mule. Doesn't seem like you like your bow very much, Melvin the mule. I wouldn't either. Let's get that off. [ A loud squawk. ] Winter, leave it. It's not for you.

Arya, did you find a new friend?

[persequor]

No. Just some poor animal strung up like a show pony. But I did get a white raven.

The raven sounds beautiful. [Though, Pepper has also never heard of that.]

Are you busy? I was hoping I could stop by with a gift for you. [Or four...]

[persequor]

A gift? [ omgosh omgosh omgosh ] I was just visiting Aemon. I got some carrots for him.

[ Abby sounds a tad groggy, but she made it a point to avoid sleeping when the sun first rose. So she could do this: ]

[ Oh, you. She smiles a little to herself, but she isn't done just yet. Sleep comes after. ]

It's custom to wish someone a Merry Christmas in the morning.

Winter? [ A familiar face pokes her head into the stables, dressed more in warmer leathers. Purple eyes blink in surprise when she sees the white raven and the mule. ]

Is that a raven?

[persequor]

I found him. I think he's one of the ravens from the Citadel.

[ That's why he's so big. Because clearly bigger is better in Westeros. ]
