Thirty-seventh Spell

I do hope everyone had a wonderful holiday, and I hope everyone liked what I sent them. I've become a bit out of practice with my knitting.

First of all, happy Christmas. I know it's different from what you're accustomed to at Hogwarts, but this place does have a certain charm.

Secondly, I was wondering if the three of you would be interesting in exploring the castle with me and making a map of the area. I know you made one for Hogwarts but Paradisa could use one as well. Let me know soon if you're interested.

[ He chuckles softly. ] I'm never far behind. Can't leave them alone for one minute, lest they wreak havoc on the place.

Two mischief-makers found it in Filch's office and gave it to my friend. They figured out how to use it. Likely because they are always up to no good.

I've been busy knitting gifts for everyone. I haven't had time for much else.

Some boys from my home world are here. Their names are Sirius Black and Remus Lupin. I knew them as adults, but they're here as teenagers.

[laughs] Much more interesting than regular chess, at least. Though I wouldn't recommend anyone playing a life-sized version.

I've been toying with the idea. Of course the Insolitus is really what's going to give us some trouble, but I'm sure a witch of your talents will have no problem devising any number of plans to keep us from getting lost there.

As it happens, one of my best friends had to go through a maze. We worked together on a number of spells to help him through it. He's a better teacher than I am, but I can still show them to you all if you like.

I've got a few up my sleeve, but best to put our heads together and see what you've managed to work out. I can't imagine this castle will just be letting us waltz through it as we please.

[ The more they have the better, because James has a vague feeling Paradisa might be a little more maliciously tricky that Hogwarts is. ]

Erm, no, I don't think it will. We can save the maze until later, though. We do have an entire castle to explore.
