[ Frodo arrives rolling and tumbling across the floor.

There was a great shadow over him then, something with a terrible stench and legs too numerous to count. And now, light. He shields himself from the brightness and scoots back until he bumps against the wall, then scrambles to find shelter behind a couch. It hurts his eyes. The air is suddenly too clear, everything too clean. He fears it is a trick.

He speaks in a hush, afraid to alert the enemies but more afraid of being alone. ]

Sam? Where are you, Sam?

Nonsense is more exciting than sense, I must say.

I like that. I'm an artist and I write, so I deal with nonsense a lot

Do you like it here then, when you are a little larger that is?

It's alright, I guess. It's still really fucked up, though. [She spreads her hands] This, for example. This place just loves to mess with people for no reason. AS long as you don't get too complacent about it you'll be fine.

What does it do to be wary? I wonder if the surprise makes the curses so much worse, in the end.

This place likes to throw curveballs. It's like it feeds on our emotions. If we get apathetic it might make things even worse. We also should never forget that it's the castle's fault we're here to begin with. It kidnapped us. It's not this benevolent thing. It doesn't give a shit about us. Hell, it gives us almost anything we wish for, but it made everyone pay for it last year.

[bronwe]

Does it become less cruel when we are already suffering?

Sometimes? [she sighs] It's impossible to say what it will and won't do. Any time you think you have a handle on it it'll do smemthing to throw you for a loop again.

That sounds much like fate, or destiny, or whatever it is that decides for you what one cannot choose for oneself.

I guess, yeah, but there are at least some of us who still try to stand up against it and say that it's wrong that the castle has so much control over us.

Perhaps it isn't right, but is there anything we could do to change that?

I'm still trying to figure that out, honestly.
