Over time, many of the people here have grown accustomed to the castle's actions. It is a very rare event indeed that will draw much sympathy. Mockery is a more common reaction.

Yes, so I have noticed. It seems all manner of people have abandoned common decency, not to mention fealty they owe their king and queen, no matter where they find themselves.

Some, yes. There are many with independent hearts here, and others who see this as an opportunity to make a new start. But not all have abandoned their duties.
