[Well, after having arrived a little while ago, North has kept a watchful eye on the communications of others, and he's got an idea of what he ought to be doing.

It's been a harrowing trip--mentally, at least--and he's still slightly confused by the situation. Last thing he knew, he wasn't conscious. And now he's been deposited in a place that's about as mysterious as it gets.

He stands in the lobby of the castle in full armor, book open, and decides to introduce himself. Voice muted by the helmet, he addresses the general populace.]

Don't stop me if you've heard this one before. This is North, and I'm less lost than I am confused. Anybody care to give a guy the grand tour?

[After which point he just shrugs at the damn thing and tucks it away in his armor. With a shake of his head, he takes off his helmet, and begins to wander the lobby.]

Might as well make the best of the situation. I'll get right on that.

And, North? Good to have you back. [Someone missed his Freelancer bro.]

Good to be here. I don't know who could have kept you guys out of trouble until now, but never fear, I am here.

Out of trouble? Yeah, that'd be nobody.

[Come on, who wants to stay out of trouble? That's no fun.]

[So true, dear friend. SO true.]

Alright, who saves your ass?

One of the others from the team. Even your sister, believe it or not.

[Since she was somehow not affected by the Seven Deadly Sins virus.]

South bailed you out? See, she can be a team player. Can.

She's got more to her than anyone might think, if they were to just listen to her mouth off. Good thing to know.

South is one of a kind. She doesn't disappoint.

[Hahaha yeah.]

Hasn't yet. Hope she won't.

[Which is to say, he hopes she is changed.]

[Thank God he doesn't know.]

She won't. South isn't like that.

--Yeah, well, I know that firsthand now.

[Haha, yeah. She isn't like that. it's what she's in danger of becoming that's the problem.]

[Funny thing is, he knows she's dangerous. Unpredictable. But he trusts her completely and he likes to think the rest of the team does too.]

I'll be here to cool her down. Admittedly I missed the rest of you.

We missed you, too.

[No dissembling about it. He really has missed North.]

It's been way too long.

Even for me. You don't know you miss the team until you're on your own.

How long's it been for you? If you don't mind my asking.

[It had been several years for York, after all, even before he'd come here.]

A while. Things didn't work out exactly the way we wanted them to.

Sounds familiar. Me and D were on the run for a couple years back home.

[York can't see it, but North shakes his head.]

Seems like a lot longer. We did what we had to do.

Yeah. Which is--well, it's one of the great things about this place, really. Sure, there are some occasional upsets, but not being chased after constantly really takes a load off, you know?

Right. I'll admit, I'm still a little antsy. It's hard to shake that. I guess maybe, just maybe I'm looking forward to some peace and quiet.

I don't blame you at all. Took me close to a month before I could really relax here.

[We're not going to talk about how long it took Carolina to relax here.]

Depends on what you go through, right? So we'll see. I have...

[Well. North has an obligation to South, and to Theta, to be calm and collected and supportive and everything from moment one. No room for error, in his opinion. He doesn't begrudge that at all, but he wonders if he'll pull it off.

But he just trails off thoughtfully.]

[York speaks firmly, in as reassuring a voice as he can manage.] You have friends here. Don't forget that.

Couldn't forget even if I tried.

I'm going to take a walk and see if I can get oriented.
