Wonderland: Day One

The residents of Paradisa who ventured into the lobby on the 13th would find something new there; a mirror spanning an entire wall. Given recent happenings, who can blame them if they're cautious? Trouble is, this mirror seems to really want to bring people in, because you don't have to get too close before you're through the looking glass.

Once you've gone, you may find that you're not quite yourself.

[Notes/Reminders: Type 1 and Type 2 characters will believe they are Wonderland natives. All characters, including those not entering Wonderland, will be able to use their journals; Wonderland "natives" will think it is a communication device exclusive to Wonderland, although communication between Paradisa and Wonderland through the journals is absolutely possible. You may NPC any number of Tulgey Wood creatures, except for the Jabberwocky.]

[ A Queen in the court of another. Normally, she would be trying to find the Queen but, right now, she's a little too startled by the fact that she's no longer in the lobby. She lingers near the painted roses. ]

They have been.. painted?

[ Strange, but she's seen stranger things in Paradisa; so they're bypassed in favor of the hedge maze. While she doesn't want to stray too far, she can't help but walk toward the start of the maze. Had she arrived here alone? She reaches out, brushing her fingers against the wall of the maze while murmuring: ]

Perhaps, it would be wise to search for a familiar face..

[She is not the only one one lingering near the painted roses. Not far away there is a small child investigating them with a deep scowl on his face.]

Is this water soluble? It makes no sense. Pair these roses with the croquet, the maze and the castle and it still makes very little sense.

[ A child here? She frowns but then can't help the smile that appears when she hears him talking. ]

I fear that very few things will make sense here.

Everything makes sense if you put enough effort into it. It is only a question of finding the trick and the link.

[ Well, then, Conan! Tell her what Wonderland is all about. ]

What have you deduced about this land?

[No decent detective presents their deductions until they have completed their investigations and solved the case.]

This is not the first time the castle has transported small groups of people to strange locations. If this is anything like the last time, we will be returned after a few days.

[ The concern is evident on her face, even if she doesn't voice it out loud. ]

It is the first time I have experienced it.

I've been in the castle for nearly a year and a half. Similar events have happened lots of times! But they never get any easier to deal with.

A year and a half..

[ Oh, she's heard some have been here for years, but she's sad to see it had to happen to one so young. ]

Then you are accustomed to the change?

I don't like them, but this isn't the first time I've been pulled into something similar.
