Wonderland: Day One

The residents of Paradisa who ventured into the lobby on the 13th would find something new there; a mirror spanning an entire wall. Given recent happenings, who can blame them if they're cautious? Trouble is, this mirror seems to really want to bring people in, because you don't have to get too close before you're through the looking glass.

Once you've gone, you may find that you're not quite yourself.

[Notes/Reminders: Type 1 and Type 2 characters will believe they are Wonderland natives. All characters, including those not entering Wonderland, will be able to use their journals; Wonderland "natives" will think it is a communication device exclusive to Wonderland, although communication between Paradisa and Wonderland through the journals is absolutely possible. You may NPC any number of Tulgey Wood creatures, except for the Jabberwocky.]

[She snickers and shoots her a mischievous grin]

Yeah? What's she gonna do? Threaten to chop off my head? I'd like to see her catch me.

[therealrisette]

[The image of the Queen and her servants blustering about the courtyard trying to capture fairies pops into her head, and starts the giggle fit all over again. Besides, this fairy looks like she can take care of herself.

At that thought, she realizes they haven't been properly introduced yet. Odd, she would have assumed she knew all the fairies working in the courtyard. Once she catches her breath, she decides to fix that immediately. She seems to be someone worth knowing, after all!]

I'm Rise. I fold and arrange the leaves on the hedges!

[She seems rather proud of her work for a moment, but shifts to a conspiratorial smirk as she flies in closer and whispers.]

When I feel like it, of course.

[eat_me_beat_me]

[She grins and spins right side up, dropping her bucket and paintbrush to the grass in the process. What? If she's painting the leaves why not the grass as well?]

Nora. I'm supposed to be painting the roses but I think I'm going to find a way out of the castle instead.

[She looks around to make sure no one's in earshot. Couldn't do for one of the card guards to get an earful and for them to lose their head start now, would it?]

Wanna come with me?

[therealrisette]

[Exploring outside of the castle does sound tempting. And much more fun than talking with boring visitors or folding leaves!

She cautiously looks around herself before answering.]

Sure!

But where would we go?

[She sounds more curious than concerned.]

[Oh come on, Rise, don't you want to see what's beyond the castle walls? Live a little!

Her grin broadens]

I don't know. Maybe the forest to start? We'll just explore and see what we can find!

[therealrisette]

[Of course, what sort of fairy would she be if she didn't?

Besides, it has to be more interesting out there. Because out there is not right here,and isn't that always more interesting?]

Yeah, sounds like fun!

[Oops, that came out a little louder than she intended. Oh well, it doesn't seem like anyone heard them.

Anyway, it's her turn to flash a devious grin now.]

... Race you to the exit!

[And as soon as the words are out of her mouth, she shoots off in a flash.]

[eat_me_beat_me]

Hey?! [She laughs and zooms after her, a red light surrounding her the faster she flies. She catches up pretty quickly, keeping pace with her new friend. She laughs as they race through the maze.]

[therealrisette]

[Rise laughs along with Nora, her pink glow blending and twisting with Nora's red as they weave through the hedge maze.

Even at their size, it doesn't take long for them to reach the exit. Suddenly, Rise stops.]

... Have you ever been out there before?

[She sounds more excited than nervous. But maybe a little nervous. Mostly excited, though!]

{ooc: Such an innocent little fairy... xD}

[eat_me_beat_me]

[Seeing the other fairy stop out of the corner of her eye, Nora comes to a halt not too far ahead of her. She pauses, looking around at the maze and the forest beyond]

A little but I haven't gone very far. That's how the Queen got me - I was close.

[She shrugs and looks at her with a grin]

But I wanna find out what else is out there. It's gotta be better than this, right?

[therealrisette]

[Rise can't argue that. No guards to chase them and no work to do. And a huge place to explore!

She's still a little bit nervous, but she flits forward and grabs Nora's hand.]

Then let's go!

[eat_me_beat_me]

[Nora cracks up, giving the other fairy's hand a squeeze before darting forward, yanking her along with her.]
