[Martel had woken up back in her own bed after spending those few days in that strange world that reminded her of home in a strange and twisted way. She hoped that everyone who had been taken by the mirror was all right and as safe as they could be in this place.]

Did everybody come back all right from that place and remember who they are?

[And then to her friends:]

Don't worry, I'm all right. Are you all right? Did anything happen while I was trapped in the mirror?

Are you all right? We got separated from each other and I was worried about you. Not that you can't handle yourself, but... [She still worried about him.

A slight pause.] ...Did you ever find Tsuna?

[And with that, she leaves her room and goes outside with her panpipes to play them from the top of her tree.]

There's an entry in the journal made by someone that lays out everything we know and how we discovered it somewhere. [She wishes for a pen, and quick before he can stop her, she leans down and takes his hand, writing the page number on his hand.] It's filtered against anyone who would use it for harm, but you will be able to see it. [That's more of a warning that if he asks anything, to filter it.] The information about Lastlook and the virus from Draconis aren't there, as the expedition happened this August, and the virus took hold at Thanksgiving.

[And then she smiles. She gets it, Reborn.] Everything about me is normal out there. My Cruxis Crystal ceases to work, and I cannot use my magic that comes from being a half-elf.

[He's momentarily stunned when she takes his hand so freely and writes on it and he just sort of stares. He should be used to this, women with sad smiles tend to always do things like this out of the blue to him, but still. But it's still a shock as he pulls his hand back and he's just glad he can multitask and hear what she's saying as well.

Ugh what is she doing to him...] Did anyone attempt to put together information from that trip in the journal for everyone? [And the virus.

And then he nods at that. Good, then all he has to worry about is his gun working out there.] Then there's one place I can fight and not worry about your ears.

[She stifles a laugh at his stunned expression, even after he pulls his hand away. In a way, she did it to tease him, and she wasn't disappointed.] Someone probably did, but I don't know the page number off the top of my head. The virus you can most definitely find a record of.

And I told you not to worry about that. Silly man.

[He is so glad Luce isn't able to hear her, she'd be telling Martel about him being a paranoid hitman and he'd never hear the end of it.

His life is suffering.] I'll have to look for it then, especially if Tsuna was here for it.

[And a look at that.] Someone has to worry about a sad woman who can easily go deaf.

...or you could just ask Tsuna about it. [ Or, you know. You could ask her. But that would be too easy, wouldn't it?

And you're getting a look right back, Reborn.] It's not that easy to deafen me. I've been an angel for quite a while. I'm used to it and can tune things out when I want to. Or just ignore it.

...Tsuna doesn't always share everything important. [And asking her would maybe result in him getting his hand written on again. Besides it's less fun.

And nope, totally giving her that look still.] Would you like to test that sometime? [...Yes Reborn, this is the best idea in the world.]

And maybe there's a reason why he doesn't tell everything. [Or is that giving Tsuna too much credit?]

And what would you do? Shoot at me? [Oh, don't challenge this woman. She is entirely too stubborn even if Reborn may be right.]

[...] You have talked to Tsuna, right? [Yeah that's giving him too much credit.]

I would hit that branch near your head, without hitting you. [And he points to a branch that's barely even half an inch away from her head.] And I can shot each one near you, except the one you are sitting on, without hitting you. [And some of those branches are rather thick.

And he's casually pulling out his pistol as he says it.]

...Okay, you may have a point.

[And she's giving him a determined look.] Then do it, and we'll see who's right. [She trusts him not to miss.]

I have known him longer.

[And of course he won't miss. After giving Leon a look, he takes aim and, sure enough, hits each branch in quick succession, not even flinching at the noise.

And Leon is ready to act as a parachute if she falls.]

[She doesn't fall, because she's gripping the tree branch white-knuckled, so hard that it creaks slightly. She's trying to not show her pain, but after the second, there's a wince, and she can't stop herself from wincing at every one after that. By the end, there's tears in her eyes and her head is bowed, hair falling over her face. Her ears are positively ringing and they hurt like they haven't ever before.

...So he was right. And she hates admitting that, even to herself. That she can't take care of herself as much as she wants to be able to, that she needs someone to worry over her and check themselves because of her.]

[Leon doesn't fall when she grips the branch, instead he turns back into his normal self and stands on it, looking at Reborn, who just tilts his head down as he puts his pistol away. He's quiet after that, but then he takes out a handkerchief and hands it up to her, as well as Leon who turns into a set of headphones to block out any noise while her ears hurt.

He knew it would happen, but she was stubborn and wouldn't listen and he had to show what would happen when he fought. But now that he's proven it to her, he knows what he has to do if he ever fights someone while her hearing is this good. He'll just fight in other ways.]

[She takes the handkerchief but doesn't use it, though she is thankful for the headphones. Her ears still won't stop ringing, though. She can get rid of the pain, though, and closes her eyes, concentrating, letting the green glow surround her and a spell circle appear below her.]

First Aid. [And the pain in her head lessens to a dull ache that she can handle.]

[He notices that green glow, even with his attention elsewhere, and he sighs. He hadn't meant for her to be like this, but she had wanted proof.

So instead he just shifts on the branch so his back is to her.] At least I'm not others from my world, the sound would have been worse.

[She's doing better now that her head doesn't feel like it's splitting in half and then she actually does use the handkerchief to wipe at her eyes. She looks over at him with his back to her, and sighs.

He must feel terrible about this, and it was all because she couldn't accept her own weakness.] ...I'm sorry.

[He does, and he just looks down at the ground for the moment, even staying quiet as he does. Trying to figure out how to word what he wants to say.] We learn from experience. Now you know what it sounds like.

[Didn't mean it didn't pain him to do it to her, like it would have if he had done it to Yuni if she had similar hearing.]

No, I knew what would happen. [A small self-depreciating smile that he can't see.] I just didn't want to admit it, as I was just too stubborn. [Too stubborn to admit that she couldn't overcome something, that she was weak.]

So don't blame yourself, please.

[He shakes his head before turning back to looking at her, rolling his shoulders back.] It's not weakness to admit your faults.

[And he'll still blame himself for it, because in this well it is his fault.] Would you like to join me for coffee and something to eat?

[He's feeling mildly guilty about this, don't mind him.]

[A sigh at that.] And yet... I still feel like it is. [Especially to admit them to someone like Reborn. He probably thinks she's a burden, or some such.

But at the offer of coffee and food, she smiles slightly.] I could join you, yes.

[He smiles slightly at that and shakes his head.] Not everyone is suited for the front lines. The Sky Arcobaleno, the leader of us, don't fight. Not everyone is suited to that and yet those that aren't prove themselves in other ways. And those of us that do adapt so we can better protect them.

[She's not a burden, he can guess that's what she's feeling like and that's what he's trying to tell her. But then he nods.] Good. Then you can show me somewhere better to eat then the kitchen.

[He hopes.]

[...And that means more to her than you will probably ever know, Reborn. It doesn't banish the feelings entirely, but it helps. At least he doesn't think of her as that. She smiles slightly at him.] ...Thank you. [She goes to brush her hair behind her ear, until she realizes she can't because of Leon. She gives a tiny laugh.] You can can call off your cute little lizard now.

[And she can show him somewhere better to eat.] There's the Lux in the castle, which is free, but when I have money I go to a cafe in town. [And guess who happens to have some money?]

[It's a start, and that's all he can ask. And then he shakes his head and looks at the pair of eyes on one of the ear pieces.] Leon. [And at that command Leon turns back into a chameleon and walks down her shoulder and arm casually, getting close enough for him to reach up and take.]

Which would you like to go to? [Her choice, he wouldn't mind either and he's not sure about them so having a familiar face would help.]

Is that his name...? [She'll remember that. And then she finally does brush her hair behind her slightly pointed ear.] I've only been in the Lux once or twice. I know the cafe in town has good tea. [She smiles at him wryly.] Not sure about coffee but we can always go find out.

[And with a glance down as she judges distances, she slides off the branch and hops and jumps her way down to the ground, landing lightly.]

Yes, Leon is my chameleon. [His shape changing chameleon but yes, his chameleon. And then he nods some. Hey you never know man...] Nothing like going and discovering for ourselves.

[And then he follows her down, not as graceful but he has a chameleon and a hat to keep on his head, but he soon lands a little less gracefully then her, having to bend his knees to land and then stand up, taking his hand off of his hat as he does.]

A chameleon, hm? Do all chameleons from Earth shape-shift? [She has no idea what a chameleon is, really.] And that always is more fun.

[She walks over to him, and realizes that he is at least a good head taller than her in this form. She laughs and clasps her staff behind her, looking up at him.] Then shall we go?
