Um! H-Hello, everyone... [Colette might sound just a tiny bit sheepish as she talks over the journal. Have you ever been in that situation where something big happened in your life, but it was a private matter? And then you're not sure if you should be telling people that it happened, because it's not exactly something that comes up easily in casual conversation? So now the time has come that you actually have a question for a lot of people regarding this new development, BUT YOU STILL HAVEN'T TOLD ANYONE ABOUT THE DEVELOPMENT IN THE FIRST PLACE?

Life is hard. So Colette sounds a touch... nervous as she regards the journal. It's definitely a good kind of nervous, but still. Nerves.]

Every year around the same time, a lot of people here celebrate a holiday called Valentines day! Its a holiday from Earth, I think, where people do special things for the people that they really care about.

[it's not coming up super soon, but still, two and a half weeks. That's soon-ish.] So! Um, I've celebrated the holiday before, but I was wondering... If you're suppose to do something different if there's someone that you really like, and they said that they like you too, and you might be... dating?

Oh, I just realized... I didn't introduce myself. My name is Colette Brunel, what's your name?

[ Colette, is it? She has long meant to ask if Joshua meant to call her Rosette then or was it Colette, only the time never seemed ripe. Would he be unhappy at this news then? ]

Lucrezia Borgia. A pleasure, Colette.

Lucrezia... That's such a beautiful name. [And a very specific one. She remembers Joshua mentioning it]

Do you know someone named Joshua Christopher?

[ Ah, so she isn't playing coy, but Lucrezia can. ]

He seems well known in the castle.

Oh, I guess so. [not that well known, but fairly so]

Well I'm glad that we could finally talked. He said your name once, and I've really wanted to meet you.

Did he? Is there need for me to restore my reputation after that?

[she shakes her head, then realizes that journal can't really convey that]

Not at all. It sounded like you two might be close.

[ Of course Joshua might be listening to this. Joking aside... ]

We have never said as much as you and Lloyd have.

[ah, Colette isn't entirely sure that she gets what Lucretzia is putting down, but she makes a guess]

Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't mean in that way... I thought the two of you were friends.

I cannot be friends with one my brother disagrees with. [ Which is what it comes down to. ]

He has been kind to me.

[ah... Joshua hinted at that too. This all sounds like a very complicated situation]

Mm, he's a kind person. [he can be cruel too at times, and many other things... But he's capable of great kindness]

Who is he to you?

A very important friend.

Do you fear him?

No. I used to be scared of him, but not anymore. [she'd be lying if she said she was never any moment where she was afraid, but any time she feels fear coming up on her she works very hard to defeat that feeling]

If not for Lloyd, could you have loved him?

I don't know. [she's forgotten that they're talking on the journal at this point, and she is just thinking out loud. If they had met under drastically different circumstances, maybe. But such a different universe is difficult to imagine.]

In a way I do love him... I love all of my friends. [it might sound like an airy comment-- something that sounds pretty but has no meaning. But she means it with complete sincerity.]

[ Lucrezia believes her, wants to. She thinks she could have said the same and mean it wholeheartedly, in what seems a lifetime ago. ]

You would be sad then, if a cruel woman were to harm him.
