[ There’s a shuffling sound as somepony sifts through a pile of boardgames. ]
There. I was certain I had seen it elsewhere afore. [ Luna takes the game out, spreading the board onto a table. ] Aha! That thrice-damned “Madagascar” doth count for naught in this version!
[ Another voice cuts in. ] Wait. Which came first, then? The board game, or the video game? [ This is important to know. ]
[ Blink. ]I am...unsure. [ Gonna glance at those rules. ] The premise of this game is entirely different from the other, however. Forsooth, we shall be attempting to save the world, rather than infect it.
Well, that’s much more palatable. [ A pause. ] I can see why Madagascar isn’t included in this version, though. You could just move the uninfected population there to win the game.
[ Luna sounds just a smidge bitter. ] As long as it doth not have merely one port for the entire isle.
[ And Twilight sounds a little bit excited. ] Well, let’s play it. It’ll be nice to have a game I can actually play and have an actual chance at winning. [ ...Stupid Frustrated Aves. ]
[ That gets a laugh. ] Very well. [ A rustle of paper as she looks over the instructions. ] We shall take these role-playing cards and draw our roles, then.
....I’m a scientist! [ Huzzah! ]
I am a.......bioterrorist? [the buck is that word, even?]
[[ooc: Open over journal or for action. Luna's door is ajar!]]

action duh
...I suppose, given the nature of the game, it's somepony trying to.... assist the diseases? Or creating them?
[ . . . Oh heck with it. ] Where's the rule book?
duh your FACE
Either way, it's floating in midair between them and Luna's looking dubious.]
duh your MOM
.....
Nope. Can't read this junk.
Just glaring at the booklet like it's pure evil. ]
leave my mom out of this D:
I am to hide mine movements from thee, spread disease, and generally oppose thee in thy quest to obtain the cures. Thou canst apprehend me, but only if thou art in the same city as I am at the moment.
well leave my face out of this it never did anything to you
[ She pauses. ]
Wait, but what would have happened if you hadn't drawn that role?
so you would think
We would have worked cooperatively in order to find the cures.
... D: but it didn't!
Because Luna is good at games. ]
Well, I... suppose I still have some chance. There's no reflexive tests in a game like this. It's all strategy. [ This was supposed to be internal monologue... oh well. ]
All right, still... sounds simple enough.
/trauma ;;
A pause.] We can play something else, if thou dost prefer.
lies! lies and slander!
It's been a while since we pulled these games out. We can try another game later, but we've already started this one.
is this the face of a liar ;;
"The player who was last sick goes first."
[...yeah, she hasn't done that in pretty much forever] Thou hast four actions each turn. Thou canst move from city to city, partially cure a populace by removing one disease unit, or formulate a cure if thou hast enough location cards.
....yes :|
[ She pauses a moment. She's never seen Princess Celestia get sick.
Stupid alicorns. ]
That would be me, wouldn't it?
....>.>
:3c
[ Going to be examining the... board... or whatever they have...
GIVE HER A MINUTE TO THINK OKAY... ]
....lies and calumny!
no subject
........How do I get location cards now?
