Second Heart - Action
[Private]
So here I am. I'll give it this, if it is the Darkness, it's persistent. Then again, it's not like I've got anywhere to go. I'm a little busy either being trapped in Hell, trapped inside the Darkness or bein' a Jackie skewer in an abandoned mansion's attic. But I got places to be. And so does the Darkness.
Johnny, clearly imperfect, made it perfectly clear. It wants me good and empty. A nice new Jackie coat so it can around killin' and maimin' all night long. It's tried before, it's tried blunt force and it's tried trickery. All this could just be game number three, wearin' me down. The long game. A big magic castle filled with spacemen and ghosts. Perfect fuckin' place for a crime lord, right? Especially one with a body count that reads like a guest sign-in book and all the supernatural bullshit you could ask for. Just kickin' back and shootin' the breeze because everyone is sayin' you're stuck.
And here's where I am. Is this too well thought, too cohesive, too fuckin' complete to be The Darkness? Or is it just too convincing enough to fool me?
I'm stuck, that much is for sure. And sittin' in my room, readin' this fuckin' book won't get me nowhere. I gotta get out and see what I'm dealin' with here.
All I know is that you, Jenny, are somewhere out there. And I got to find you. If nothin' else, that's why I gotta get out of here. I'll die, I'll rest when I know you are safe. Safe from me, safe from The Darkness, safe from The Angelus, safe. It'll be the one meaningful thing I do with my life.
[For the first time since showing up, Jackie is out and about in the castle and the surrounding wilderness and town. It's clear he's looking, but not for something in particular. Just around. Searching for whatever is out there, picking out anything that stands out. And listening to that screeching, distorted voice inside of him raving about the sunlight or the people or the castle itself.
In fact, one could possibly see him as looking a little lost. Clearly that's an invitation. Though if one is sensitive to demonic natures or darkness, or just plain telepathic, they might want to take a deep breath first. This is a wandering motherload right here.]

I thought you weren't going to trust the waiter on principle.
Since all of us are just an evil trick and all.
