I need to offer an overdue apology to you all, at least a good number of you. In my return I seem to have lost my head and nearly did the same to others.

For any offense I may have given in my time as the Queen of Hearts, I apologize most humbly and can only hope you can forgive me.

If you cannot, I can accept that as a consequence of my actions as well.

I am so terribly sorry.

[She never said peaceful coexistence, just coexistence. Helen has spent too many years tending the Sanctuary Network to kid herself into thinking there will always be a peaceful resolution to tensions between species.]

It's kind of a long story, but one of the guys I was stationed with got himself knocked up by an alien.

I guess it's all the practice I got having to deal with those idiots from home. You'd have to keep things short and simple or you'd completely loose one and invite an hour long debate from the other.

So you must have been some sort of leader among your fellows. People often need a strong leader more than they admit, sadly it can often turn into herding cats just as easily.

Sometimes I think I would have been better off with cats.

You'd get used to it. It only chafes for the first week or two.

Better than a corset perhaps.

The armor is actually pretty comfortable once you get it all on. It kind of has to be if you're going to be in it for hours on end.

When I was from originally they were a mandatory part of a lady's daily dress. Society has loosened it's restrictions quite a bit in the centuries since.

Trying to picture Tex stuck wearing a corset all the time. She'd probably go on a murder spree.]

Women pretty much get the same regulation gear as everyone else. Hell, the guys didn't even realize Tex was a chick at first.

It's good to know gender is less of an issue in battle in the future.

Good thing too... we didn't exactly have room to just discount half the population from being capable soldiers.

Hell, Tex was the best fighter I ever knew, way out classed the rest of us.

[He'll admit it, he's proud of her skill. And he's not afraid to admit his girlfriend could totally kick his ass. Because frankly, she could kick anyone's ass.]
