[there is a soft clearing of her throat and a pause, one could almost hear her wringing her hands]

I need to offer an overdue apology to you all, at least a good number of you. In my return I seem to have lost my head and nearly did the same to others.

For any offense I may have given in my time as the Queen of Hearts, I apologize most humbly and can only hope you can forgive me.

If you cannot, I can accept that as a consequence of my actions as well.

I am so terribly sorry.

[It's heartfelt, even a little choked with emotion, as much as a Victorian lady can allow.]

I know you are, and beyond that I know I can depend on you. I haven't often in my life taken on a protege but I see so much already in you and so much more potential beyond that. I will be there to whatever degree I can to help you along the way.

I might need some help with some of the medical stuff. It's my loss, and even though I have a few things written down, I still forget now and then.

I am here, any time. I may even have some textbooks that came over with the Sanctuary if that will help.

That would help a lot. [he won't retain any of the information but that won't stop him from trying]

They'll make good reference material at any rate. I'll find them tonight and maybe we can have lunch this week and catch up.
