[Now that Blues is back in working order he's decided to take a trip to the shooting range. Since he's been able to charge himself up on a regular basis here he hasn't had to worry as much about his core freaking out on him. However, after that last battle he figures knowing what his limitations are may be a good idea. It didn't act up that time, but what's to stop it from happening next time?

So there he is, firing at targets with his cannon arm. His journal is open on the ground beside him, so someone may hear the "pew pew pew" of plasma shots being fired.]

[Drift hears the noise, from his journal. Shooting? ]

...Break? Are you all right? [Because that sounds like shooting.]

Looks fine to me.

[whistles_the_blues]

[There's a pause and the firing stops.]

I'm fine, [For the moment.] just getting some target practice in. I was recently repaired and need to make sure all my systems are functioning properly.

[He's going to avoid bringing up the flawed power core for the moment.]

Repaired? You were injured?

Woo woo!

Before you arrived, yes. I didn't want to test my weapons out until I had found somewhere safe to do it.

So they have repair facilities here?

[Something of a relief.] Were you injured when you got here?

[Nosy questions robot asks nosy questions.]

Not exactly, I had to find someone who knew a thing or two about machines to do the repairs. He wasn't an expert, but he got the job done.

No more than I am now. [Dodged that question.]

The damage that needed to be repaired was done while here, I haven't heard from the ones that did it since that day, I have reason to believe they were sent back to their worlds.

Is that going to be a problem for, uh, for my kind?

[Drift isn't known for being easy on his body.]

So you helped protect this place. [He has a simple view of things, Drift does.]

[whistles_the_blues]

Your body appears to be more complex than mine. It could be a problem, but I'm sure there's someone here who will be able to manage.

[Blues is pretty much the same way.]

That was certainly my intent, I didn't fare as well as I had hoped though.

Did you survive? Did you help protect this place? That sounds good enough.

[Guess who else is at the shooting range, also not using a standard weapon? THIS KID! Evan's standing at a firing spot, pinholing the words "I AM NOT APOCALYPSE" into his target with the red beams that come from his eyes. When he notices Break start firing, he stops, though his eyes are still glowing, and turns to say hi.]

Hi, you're Break, right? We talked over the journal?

Action forever!!

[whistles_the_blues]

[He glances to Evan, then to the message he had burned into his target. He looked back to Evan and decided he'd wait to ask about that.]

I am and you're Evan, correct? How'd the search for a teacher go?

[kid_apocalypse]

Yup, that's me!

[He shakes his head at the questions.]

Not well, unfortunately. If there are any people who can play guitar here, none of 'em spoke up. I've been working through some books though, so my technique's improved a lot. Another month or so and I might be able to teach you myself.

[He pauses.]

I learn really fast. That's what my teachers back home say, anyway.

[whistles_the_blues]

Well, at least you're figuring it out one way or another. I hope that goes well for you.

[There's a slight pause.]

You shoot from your eyes? That's an interesting talent.

[kid_apocalypse]

My Uncle Cluster always told me I could do anything I set my mind to.

[He smiles.]

Oh...yeah. I can shoot from my hands too, but it's a lot harder to control. I prefer to use my other powers when I can, so I don't risk a lot of collateral damage.

[He winds up his arm like he's throwing a pitch, and "throws" his hand, his arm stretching with it, and grabs the target from where it's mounted, which is roughly 50 yards away, and reels his arm back in so it's normal sized again.]

I can control any part of my body, make it do just about anything I want. One of my teachers back home said I had the potential to control myself at the molecular level, give myself any physical "super power" I can imagine.

Collateral damage is certainly a good thing to avoid.

[He watches Evan grab the target and pull it back.]

Well, you certainly seem to have quite the variety of abilities.. I only have this.

[He lifts up his arm cannon; The Proto Buster for Evan to see.]

It tends to use up more power than it should though.

It was one of the first lessons we learned in the class "Fighting With Fighting", to minimize property damage when out in public.

[He shrugs. He knows pretty well how powerful he is, but he tries not to think about it like that. He's only as powerful as he needs to be, he likes to think.]

Hmm...I wonder if there's a way to fix that? I'm not real experienced with mechanics, but I bet I could learn with time. Maybe I could help you?

[whistles_the_blues]

Thanks but no thanks, It's sensitive equipment. It's better to just leave it like it is.

[He's got a bit of a firm tone with that.]

That's an interesting class, what kind of school do have to be in to learn that?

If you aren't too busy. I was just finishing a bit of practice, I can be at the entrance of the castle in a little bit if you'd like?

[whistles_the_blues]

[A little while later, there will be a robot in sunglasses standing outside at the main entrance.]

[kryptonian]

[And she's there in jeans and a cute pink hoodie, hair messily pulled out of her face with a red headband. But how funny, a robot wearing sunglasses! Were his eyes not made to adjust?

She smiles as she approaches.]

Hey! What's up?

[whistles_the_blues]

[He likes them, that's all that matters.]

Hey.

[And there's already an awkward pause.]

I wanted to thank you... For the other day.

[kryptonian]

Hey, no problem. [She smiles.] That's kind of what I do! Especially for friends.

[whistles_the_blues]

Still, that's the second time you've helped me since I arrived and this time you saved my life. I owe you a great deal for that.
