[He's not going to respond to that first question, not at all. That familiar feeling of guilt is creeping up on him for letting Lee know in the first place. Still, he's interested to see if anyone can give a helpful answer, so he'll keep an eye on that]
I think I'm getting used to the whole...magic castle thing. It's weird, though, everything being so quiet.
[Purposefully avoiding talking about himself, doop doop]
[ He hadn't even considered how Ben might interpret the question. He pauses for a moment, belatedly realizes he probably should have set up another filter here. ]
Don't get used to it. It can get pretty loud pretty fast here.
I've heard. I met a guy called Mark, he's the one that does all those radio broadcasts, he explained a lot to me.
[It still sounds better than home. That said, MOST things sound better than home. But look at him, Lee, trying to communicate with kids his own age again]
Yeah, he is. He dragged me out to town for a couple hours, too. [His tone is cautious, he'd given up on Normal Teenage Life before Lee found him in the woods. It's a little unsettling thinking he has a chance at it now]
Sure. [Because hell, just spending time with them and not running for their lives sounds pretty damn good. If he wants it that way or not, they're all he has]
There's an art gallery, full of drawings made by residents. I'm sure Clem would get a kick outta that. Maybe she could even get some of her own drawings on the walls.
[One day he might find it in a treasure chest along with his masculinity]
I figured. But it's okay, I'm used to it. [After all, before Clem came into his life, he had a little sister to bug him. He's well resigned himself to being Suffering Big Brother]
[He's silent for a few moments. He hopes she and their parents got somewhere safe. God he really hopes so. Eventually, he realises he'll have to respond in some way, so he lets out a steady breath]
[There's nothing all that pushy or searching in his tone. Lord knows, he never likes talking about the nice NORMAL life he lost to the outbreak, he doubts Lee does all that much either, convicted killer part aside]

Ben
Mark. He's around your age, isn't he?
Lee

Ben
[ Spoken like a true father, Lee. :') ]
Lee
Yeah, I noticed your walls.
Ben
Drawing keeps her entertained. That's.. important.
Lee
Ben
Find your room?
Lee

Ben
Lee
[Let him claw back a smidgen of dignity again]
Ben
I don't think her finding friends her own age is gonna let you off the hook entirely, you know.
Lee
I figured. But it's okay, I'm used to it. [After all, before Clem came into his life, he had a little sister to bug him. He's well resigned himself to being Suffering Big Brother]
Ben
[ He hates that word. Had. ]
Lee
Yeah.
Ben
Didn't have any sisters. Had a brother, though.

[ But there's something sort of final in his tone, too. That's as much as he wants to talk about. ]
Gotta meet up with Clem in a minute. Watch out for yourself, kid.
Lee
[He understands, and he's glad Lee shared that much with him. He's not exactly the confidant of the group by any stretch of the imagination]
I will. [Puase. Because hey it's him] I'll try to, anyway.
