Okay, I think. She seems pretty happy here.

You're not wrong. Needs more friends her age, though, I think.

Damn right. Not that I ever mind being dragged into her games, but she'd probably be happier with someone who gets it a lots more.

[Let him claw back a smidgen of dignity again]

I don't think her finding friends her own age is gonna let you off the hook entirely, you know.

I figured. But it's okay, I'm used to it. [After all, before Clem came into his life, he had a little sister to bug him. He's well resigned himself to being Suffering Big Brother]

.. that's right. Had a little sister, didn't you?

[He's silent for a few moments. He hopes she and their parents got somewhere safe. God he really hopes so. Eventually, he realises he'll have to respond in some way, so he lets out a steady breath]

[ Right. Probably not something he should bring up - Lord knows he wouldn't want his brother brought up. But that's not fair, is it? ]

Didn't have any sisters. Had a brother, though.

[There's nothing all that pushy or searching in his tone. Lord knows, he never likes talking about the nice NORMAL life he lost to the outbreak, he doubts Lee does all that much either, convicted killer part aside]

Yeah. He was a good guy. Stuck close to Macon.

[ But there's something sort of final in his tone, too. That's as much as he wants to talk about. ]

[He understands, and he's glad Lee shared that much with him. He's not exactly the confidant of the group by any stretch of the imagination]
