[He's not going to respond to that first question, not at all. That familiar feeling of guilt is creeping up on him for letting Lee know in the first place. Still, he's interested to see if anyone can give a helpful answer, so he'll keep an eye on that]
I think I'm getting used to the whole...magic castle thing. It's weird, though, everything being so quiet.
[Purposefully avoiding talking about himself, doop doop]
[ He hadn't even considered how Ben might interpret the question. He pauses for a moment, belatedly realizes he probably should have set up another filter here. ]
Don't get used to it. It can get pretty loud pretty fast here.
I've heard. I met a guy called Mark, he's the one that does all those radio broadcasts, he explained a lot to me.
[It still sounds better than home. That said, MOST things sound better than home. But look at him, Lee, trying to communicate with kids his own age again]
Yeah, he is. He dragged me out to town for a couple hours, too. [His tone is cautious, he'd given up on Normal Teenage Life before Lee found him in the woods. It's a little unsettling thinking he has a chance at it now]
Why not? Paradisa works in its own best interest, like every other life form. If it's in its power to make us forget, why not do it? Leaking information across dimensions can't be good for business.
[Have a man dictating back with his heavy Italian accent:]
I am from 1488, brother. As far as I am concerned, all of it is set in stone, but little of it will be remembered or thought of in hundreds of years. You had best focus on what time you have and think little of what comes to pass after your time.
[ Lee is quiet for a moment. He's a history professor - 1488 doesn't really fall under the headers of eras that he's incredibly familiar with, but it's still more than vaguely interesting to him. ]
A device called the ten-year bazooka. When someone is struck by one of its rockets, they switch places with themselves from a point exactly ten years later for five minutes.
An additional device had to be used in order to keep the future selves from going to the past and creating any disturbance there. And that same device allowed us to stay beyond the five-minute limit.
It's not a very efficient or sound method by any means, but it was what our resources allowed at the time.

I guess. Maybe we're better off just figuring out a way to make it beneficial for it to let us stay.

That's not really an option for me - sorry.

And... why are you asking that? Did Ben say something?
Clementine
And no, Ben didn't say anything. None of us are from the same time, though.. it's just something I've been wondering about.
Lee
You're both behind me.
Clementine
And yeah.. that's true. But Ben just showed up -- who's to say Christa or Omid won't, too? Maybe even further ahead than you.

.. sounds like something out of an eighties movie.
