What... the hell is happening?

[Is the only mutter you hear, as Katniss pulls back another shot, and then curses quietly.] Circles! All my arrows are going in circles in mid-air! What kind of ... weird gravitational nonsense is going on now?

I really wish I had an answer for you, but I've been asking myself the same damn question. [Kate is speaking into the journal, because right now she's kind of been sticking to her room. The spirals are making her uneasy, and she's noticing them everywhere.]

I don't like this, Kate.

[Katniss swallowed, as she plucked the arrows out of the target.] I don't like this at all. What the hell is happening?

Have you ever seen anything like this before? [She'd rather go down there and check it out for herself, but she keeps putting off leaving her room. Even in there, she keeps noticing the spirals more and more.] I know strange things are kind of... common here. And this definitely qualifies as strange.

Not like this, no. But strange things have a habit of happening around here. More often than not.

What the hell does it mean? You think it's just the castle screwing with us?

I think the castle is always screwing with us, but I don't know how it is screwing with us now.

And why. What's the point of this? [She clears her throat.] Are you, uh... Do you think they're kinda creepy? [It's a new feeling for her. There isn't a lot that scares her, especially something little like stupid spirals.]

Oh yes. I think they are completely creepy. Which makes me angry. [Fear always made Katniss angry. She hated being afraid.]

[They have that much in common. Kate hasn't quite reached the point of anger yet, since it is still all new to her, and she's still trying to register the fact that a simple shape is making her so uneasy.]

I want to know what it means. I really don't like getting screwed with.

I don't know - but keep an eye out. There will be some sort of hint, brewing.

What do you mean?

I mean something is going to happen, and it won't be good.

Great. I guess we'll have to stay on point. [She huffs.] How did it turn out the last time something like this happened?

....Not well. Never well. We will do what we can.

Katniss. What exactly qualifies as not well?

Madness. There's always an edge of people going completely mad. There might be blood, violence. But look for people going mad first. That's when you know it's bad.

Great. And what if I'm one of them? [She looked around again, realizing how much these spirals were already getting into her head. It wasn't a good sign.] Then what do I do?

Lock yourself in your damned room and do whatever you have to stay alive. [Came her firm tone.] Seriously, do not be out in the open if you can help it.

Yeah, that sounds good. I wasn't planning on getting out much for a while anyway. [She pauses for a moment.] You got somewhere safe to be?

[There's the faintest edge of a smirk.] Plenty ... but if I'm feeling hunted, I try to stay on the move.

That's smart. I think I'm just gonna stick with the 'locking myself in a room' option. The last thing I wanna do is risk putting people in danger just a few weeks into me being here.

All right, then I'll see you when this is done.
