16 - fury of the night
[Something was wrong.
There was always something wrong with the castle. The strange building never seemed logical to him, much less natural. Even so, he kept this foreboding feeling in mind, and he'd tread through the castle cautiously, looking for the source.
First, he saw Zelman, out cold. And a sick sort of scent came from him that made even Toothless hesitant to investigate.
And then, the next day, he saw it.
He'd watched it, and his instincts told him, this was bad. It smelled the way Zelman had, but stronger.
It engaged him, and Toothless snarled and growled, striking out at the thing but never hitting it. But he dissuaded it, and it left him there, slightly rattled.
After watching to make sure it hadn't come back, Toothless turned and trotted off quickly. He didn't know what it was, but there was a definite sense of danger attached to that thing. He had to make sure that all his friends were unharmed and safe.]
((Here's a long overdue Toothless going to check on his friends post! In general, if Toothless has threaded with your character at least three times, you will doubtlessly find yourself cross-examined by a night fury. That being said, he'll probably secondarily check up on the people he's seen at least twice as well.))

Though, he hadn't much luck finding whatever it was, and in the end figured he just needed the fresh air. Which is why Rookie would be on his way towards the lobby, at the moment.]

Not your usual way of greeting. [Rookie glances up, canting his head to one side.] You okay?

Hey, hey. Easy. It's okay. [He'll look towards the direction the dragon had been staring at prior, only to peer back down once more.] What's got you so nervous?

He'll try to move past Toothless with one hand protectively against his pistol, to try and see if he could gain some sort of visual of whatever it was the dragon was growling at.]

Is there actually something there? It's hard to tell, but it's definitely the shadows that have Toothless creeped out the most.]

Only to catch movement from the corner of his eye, causing him to snap his eyes in that direction -- only to see nothing.]
Huh. [Weird.]

But so far, still nothing.]

[A blink, before turning to look down at the dragon.]
Did you see that too?
no subject
Needless to say he does look giant now. But it doesn't do anything for the slippery black creature.]

Easy, Toothless. Might just be somebody's pet. [Or a resident. Never really can tell with this place.]
