[Maladict is distinctly unimpressed with the Peeps. She wasn't a fan of sweet things, and finding them floating in her coffee had not put her in a good mood. It had ruined her morning routine and as such, had thrown her whole day off. She's wandering through the hallways now, taking random pot shots at the horrid little creatures with her horsebow.

Sorry if anyone ends up getting an arrow through their wall. Casualty of war, and all that. She pauses long enough to open her journal, looking for people's responses to this recent infestation, before dictating]

When these 'Peep' things were described to me, it wasn't mentioned they were living things. Only that you could put them in the magical cooking box and make them joust.

The fact they're sentient and move in swarms was a very important part of miss out. [SHE'S TALKING TO YOU MARK]

[Hinata has been trying to familiarize herself with the castle, despite the peeps invasion. It's an easy solution for her--they're food and tasty sugar.

But she does pause at the sight of a woman with a horsebow.]

Um, isn't that a...a bit extreme?

Not at all. It's survival of the fittest.

But... Aren't there other ways of...taking care of this problem? Like...um, like eating them?

I don't tend to eat solid food.

Oh... [embarrassing] Um, I'm sorry for...for assuming.

It's okay, it's a normal thing to assume. Most of the population here is human, after all.

[She really wants to ask what she is then, if not human. But it's generally not polite to ask that of someone you just met.]

I-I never even realized that... Which I suppose just proves that point.

[Maladict's used to the question by now, and just chuckles, answering regardless]

Well there you are. Me, I'm a vampire.

I...I don't think I've ever met one here before.

[She pauses a moment to sort through her memories, and...nope. Don't think so.]

Is it really so different from being human?

[mal_addict]

There are a few of us. We just generally don't advertise a lot.

Well, that really depends on the vampire and the world they come from.

There...are different kinds? [All she really hears about vampires is around Halloween and involves blood-sucking.]

Um, sorry though, if...if I'm asking too much.

Oh yes. We vary greatly, from world to world.

And not at all, ask away. I have no issues talking about it.

I..never thought about that. How different worlds can mean different kinds. But, um, if that's true then...isn't there something similar between all vampires for them to still be...vampires?

Well, yes, there's the blood thing, I suppose. And the fangs. Of course, I gave up blood so maybe it's not that universal.

You can...give it up? Then, I think it might still be universal...just others might not have tried giving it up yet.

I'v spoken to a few vampires from different world while I've been here, most of them say giving it up isn't an option for them.

Oh.. I-I suppose that makes sense, too. I remember reading that it is necessary for them to, um, survive.

Oh yes, it really is. I mean, I need the coffee replacement or I'll revert. There's no beating the cravings.

You...You replaced blood with coffee? [How does that even work. She drinks neither, so maybe there is a special connection she's unaware of.]

That sounds like a...hard way to live.

[mal_addict]

I learned how to live with it. So long as I have access to it, I'm fine.

To live with such a change...it must take a lot of strength to keep to it.

Yeah, it wasn't easy. ...Pretty horrible, actually.

I-I can only imagine how horrible it had to have been. Just...what made you make such a change?

[mal_addict]

Oh...I was just tried of being hunted with pitchforks.

With...pitchforks? [So horrified by this concept] Who...who would do such a thing?
