When I'm Sixty-four

So apparently when I get old I'm going to go around wearing a fisherman's hat, grow a beard and need reading glasses. And you know, it's kind of nice to think about. I know it sounds weird but I like even the thought that I might get to live long enough to worry about things like reading glasses.

That's just a thing people who look stupid say to make themselves feel better about themselves. It doesn't work, I've tried too.

Nah, I'm pretty sure you were dressed better than me, for once. That dye job made me look like a bad Halloween costume.

Well, yeah. For a while I wasn't even sure I'd make it to sixteen.

Being a demigod does attract monsters, and being a powerful one attracts them more. Then there was this whole prophecy thing against me... But I made it through. Now I just need to graduate high school.

Sounds like it does make for some interesting stories at least. I'm sure you won't have a problem with that though.

It was nice, wasn't it? I thought so too... to have a peaceful, long life like that would be wonderful.

It could still happen for you, right? I hope it does.

Yeah, it'd be great. A guy can dream, anyway.

Things are dangerous back home. I've had my share of near-death experiences.

[Sunny smiles, thinking of the fun she had being old and actually being able to TALK to people for a little while. It wasn't nearly as bad as everyone was saying, at least she didn't think so.]

The cook guy? He wasn't so bad compared to that weird nurse.
