What the hell… [The words magically appear on the blank page.]
HEY! How is that happening? What kind of joke is this?
[There’s a long pause before the words write themselves again.]
“Paradisa,” huh? I flip through this stupid book and not only do people have no clue how they got here, they think it’s magic? Give me a break. It looks like a bunch of little kids got together and wrote in this stupid thing.
Ok, there has to be some kind of explanation for this, right? [That’s right. Ed’s talking his way through this mess.]
Let’s see, one moment, I’m sleeping at Granny’s place, and the next I wake up in some huge library with this…thing that somehow writes whatever I say. Looks like I don’t have a choice but to look for the guys who wrote in the other pages…

Edward Elric. I'm a State Alchemist from Amestris. So, what exactly is this "X" gene you mentioned. I never studied genetics, but it it sounds pretty interesting.

Anyway, the "X" gene is a heritable gene that causes genetic mutation in humans from my world, and usually manifests when a kid enters puberty. Mutations caused by the "X" gene can be as simple as telepathy, allowing a person to broadcast their thoughts on a special electromagnetic wavelength, and read the thoughts of others, or as complicated as my mutation, which gives me total control over my body at the molecular level.
So...I've read a little about alchemy, but the only people I know of from my world who deal with it are guys like Doctor Strange, or Daimon Hellstrom. What's it like in your world?

[Then...no. She couldn't be right. Different "worlds?" But...what other explanation was there, other than that this kid must have lived under a rock? That, and even Kimblee mentioned something like that, though Ed couldn't really trust anything he said...]
So, the whole "different world thing" seems to be true, huh? [Definitely something he was going to look into once he found that library Hermione mentioned.]
You must be from some kind of world then if you call telepathy a simple mutation, though your ability does sound a lot more complicated. Would you mind showing me?
Oh yeah? It's a pretty common thing where I'm from. The government tends to research military uses for alchemy, though in Xing, it originated as a kind of medicine.

Oh, not at all! I'd be happy to show you my mutation. You're in the library, right? I'll be right there.
[He starts on his way down.]
That sounds a bit like my world. Science and research started for altruistic ends, and it ends up being co-opted by the military. Mutants actually used to be pretty common in my world, but a few years ago there was an incident with a mutant witch named Wanda Maximoff, and she casted a spell that depowered something like 98% of the mutant population, resulting in a few thousand deaths all at once.
Set up a log? y/n/m?
[Which will likely be very soon, don't worry.]
Yeah. Someone mentioned there was one, so I thought I'd do some research on this place.
That sounds kind of like what supposedly happened in Xerxes. I'll tell you more about it when we meet up.
Sounds like a plan. Do you wanna do it or should I?
There's books on just about every subject there, so I wouldn't be surprised if there's at least a few books on this place, among the other worlds people come from.
I'm looking forward to it!
If you can set it up, I can get around to tagging it later tonight, so, you plz?
