[ Breakfast. Most important meal of the day and all that. John's sitting at the table in the sitting room with a piece of toast and what could probably pass as the morning paper (or the closet equivalent he could find in this place). Interesting stuff. Well, not exactly, but that isn't the point. ]

Did you get it back yet? [ Sherlock is around. He's pretty sure he is. Somewhere. So he just calls out as he reads up about some sort of town drama, hoping the detective hears. ] The housecoat, I mean.

[ A few hours later John slips into the clinic, journal in hand. Slow day, he hopes, wouldn't like to see anyone come in after having jumped off a building and slipped, breaking their ankle or something like that.

He sets himself up nearby the front door, flicking briefly through the journal. Hm. ]

The castle doesn't do that sort of thing all of the time does it? Locking people in rooms with tacky decorations? [ It was such a lovely reminder of how painfully single he is right now. :| ]

He pauses at the question, then starts stacking petri dishes from an experiment he finished the night before. He keeps his tone very even and disinterested.]

[ There is bread in the toaster, waiting for the moment Sherlock stops whatever he is doing and decides to eat something. Though John doubts that will happen anytime soon. ]

Huh. [ He turns a page, taking another bite out of his toast. Strawberry jam is amazing. ]

[He hadn't really expected that to happen. He supposes he should have anticipated SOME presence of ice on the tiles, given that it was winter and all, but it just hadn't occurred to him that there'd be ice hidden under the snow. What kind of cheap trick was that, Paradisa? Why are you setting near deathtraps for him?

He keeps an arm around Steph's shoulders, teeth grit through each step. So much for being cool.]

Nothing's broken, it's just sore. I'm fine. [Really. Listen to that convincing hiss of pain on his voice.] I just need a painkiller or something.

The castle, is hardly any good at subtlety, though I imagine it was only desperate in this circumstance, when we recall what it did.

[ Heiji has been wandering around the castle making mental notes of where anything is and so eventually will wander right into the clinic. Definitely something to make note of considering his career choice and the likely hood he might stumble across a dead body since Kudo was here too. ]

[Vivian didn't quite catch what John said as she comes into the clinic on a pair of crutches, her right foot encased in plaster. She notices John and stops.]

Oh, hello. I thought Dr. Beckett might have been here.

Oh, I think he is around somewhere. [ Closing the journal he sits up a little straighter. ] I might be able to help, though.

[She's recalling part of her list of men who were worthy. They were lawyers. They were doctors and those were kept in the castle. In the clinic to be exact. It was just her and the man in the room.]

I've heard it takes great skill to take care of someone.
