[ Breakfast. Most important meal of the day and all that. John's sitting at the table in the sitting room with a piece of toast and what could probably pass as the morning paper (or the closet equivalent he could find in this place). Interesting stuff. Well, not exactly, but that isn't the point. ]

Did you get it back yet? [ Sherlock is around. He's pretty sure he is. Somewhere. So he just calls out as he reads up about some sort of town drama, hoping the detective hears. ] The housecoat, I mean.

[ A few hours later John slips into the clinic, journal in hand. Slow day, he hopes, wouldn't like to see anyone come in after having jumped off a building and slipped, breaking their ankle or something like that.

He sets himself up nearby the front door, flicking briefly through the journal. Hm. ]

The castle doesn't do that sort of thing all of the time does it? Locking people in rooms with tacky decorations? [ It was such a lovely reminder of how painfully single he is right now. :| ]

Hmm? Oh, yes. It wasn't that bad, actually, the woman I was put with was pleasant enough. [ He laughs, shaking his head a little. ] I taught her about mobile phones. Tried to help her stop jumping everything Sherlock texted me.

Endless texts aside, yeah, it was.

I was placed with Doctor Beckett. It was a pleasant few days.

Oh, he's a pretty nice guy. [ WHAT A LUCKY BASTARD. ]

It gave me the opportunity to get to know him a little better. [ PROFESSIONALLY. But he is a nice guy. Jealous? ]

[ Totally jealous. ] Learn anything anything new about him then?

More about where he's from, things that he's worked with. [ Some of that she knew already but more was nice ]

Sounds like it was fun and informative weekend.

It was, and rather enjoyable at that.

I haven't heard of too many so far that had an unpleasant time. [ Even Maladict and Nikola hadn't been completely unpleasant ]

I'm not surprised, really. Most people don't like the thought of being locked up, even if they are stuck with someone they can tolerate.

Especially for an indeterminate length of time. We may be rather lucky that it only lasted for the length that it did.

Yeah, I'm not sure I want to imagine what would have happened if it lasted longer.

Even in a pleasant situation it could become tiresome. Not having access to our own rooms and items, privacy and even just the entire confinement?

Yeah, that can grate on people after a while. [ Though he is more tolerant than most. Living with Sherlock has done that. ]
