Can't help but feel like my time here's just been wiped. It hasn't been as long as some, but six months is the longest I've been in one place since my parents died.

I'm back to making the lab equipment. Paris was a nice break, but it's nice to be back. Think I'm going to be spending some time in the library. Those haven't been wiped, right? [Hopefully.]

Your time hasn't been wiped, Violet. Just the record of it. Don't fret. [she can hear the smile in his voice]

What're you working on now? Anything I can lend a hand in?

A bit, yes ... we'll adjust though, we always do. ... Your old one should be about, somewhere, you know. I found mine in the toaster oven.

Oh, I'm sure I've far more than that. [he chuckles softly] The TARDIS has her share of oddities, and I must say that not all of them are uniquely my idea.

[Violet]

Oh! Well, thank you very much. I must say, it's a bit odd to accept congratulations for something that won't happen directly to me for several thousand years.... but the sentiment is very appreciated, all the same.

One of the quirks of regeneration, I'm afraid. The body completely reconfigures itself - there's not necessarily any consideration for outward age. Besides, if I really did look my honest age, I'd be quite a sight...

Outside is ... a specific way of putting it. I almost would say more that I exist alongside and throughout time, instead. To be completely outside of something is to never interact with it, and -- there's no escaping time. Even if you can live through quite a bit more of it and travel across it at will, it's still there. Like oxygen.

Oh, that's simple enough. I kept a diary. [is on his second 700-year one, canonically] And I've a watch set to my own personal time, so I know how long the days are.

Not as much need for it, here, of course... since time travel's out of the question.

It'll be three years in June, I believe. ... I'm amazed it's been so long. The time really does pass quickly, with all that goes on.

Has it really been a year already? ... Goodness, time does fly.
